Great video, Chris. It’s inspirational to see how you push through. I would’ve never thought an indy bike shop would be able to spring up in this corporate climate. If someone were to open a bike shop somewhere else, what would your top advice be?

Hey Jon, Sorry for the slow reply here. To be fair, its not been easy and we still scrape by a lot of days but thankfully have an amazing community behind what we are doing. I would say the best advise would be engage with your community as much as possible and if you have a limited budget like I do, find a niche to specialize in as it is a great way to set yourself apart without a big marketing budget. I don't know if this would have worked out without specializing in something. Reach out at any point via email if you want to get into more detail or have more specific questions. I am always happy to help others who want to take a similar route.

one way small bike shops survive in Europe is by having low overhead . quite often you will see a shop on the first floor of an older house that has been in the family for generations.the shop owner lives upstairs and has no mortgage ,so if times are slow he can ride it out

You can honestly learn a lot through KZbin, another great place to get hands on experience is look to see if your city has a bike co-op that lets people volunteer to help repair bikes.
