For anybody deciding about taking her courses- they are AMAZING. I bought both of her courses and literally refer back to content from her courses every single week even though my blog has been published for a month and a half. But if you listen to any of her videos, especially more recent ones, you can clearly see she makes money in various other ways. And she definitely makes money just blogging considering she didn't start courses until several years after she started.

I thought I was going to cringe watching this because I have well over two decades developing websites/blogging, BUT everything she is saying is correct and useful advice for anybody getting started. Although, I will say, if you are going to self-host, take the classes or have a friend who knows web development. A Wordpress hosted site, is going to be a lot easier for you get started, and now I'm wondering the difficulty of exporting all your content to a self-hosted site. Oh, and THIS PERSON IS NOT A HACK because she touts "idiot and always learning" (my first time watching. first video).

I'm in year 2 but trying to figure out the best email strategy but I think you should look into hiring developers to create your own email strategy or use cloud based CRM software with AI. It takes a deep dive but from scratching the surface, I think it's the way to grow big. I'm not at that stage yet but looked at all options when I was looking for an email marketing solution. Good luck, I can see it's weighing on you!💕 And this video is great content well thought out and well delivered.

Question: should we set up a formal "business" registration with tax authorities before we implement ads into our blogs? I'm a bit worried about taxation and if this should be something that needs to be handled before you start monetizing your website. I live in the EU, but I suppose this is a generic question for anywhere you live.

Here in the US it depends on if you actually make "real" money. If we make less than $400 a year, then it's just hobby income and you are required to report it, but it won't be taxed like real business income. I don't know the laws where you live. If you start seeing hundreds of dollars per week, you could start figuring out your tax filing procedures. Don't expect this to happen for quite a while though.
