It's very telling that there are a bajillion KZbinrs promoting "easy work-from-home and get rich" nonsense; but very few people like you. People saying "it's not THAT easy, but it is possible to start a business, work for yourself. I'm really glad I found your channel, man. I subscribed.

Coming up with problems is by far the HARDEST part of this for me. Been writing things down for weeks and haven't come across anything viable that I could do.Videos like this are very helpful though. Thanks for the quality content.

Try going to websites like upwork or another job/task marketplace - depending on your skills and see what people want to PAY FOR. These are real people with real problems that are willing to pay someone to solve them. You won't find an undiscovered gap in the market, but you will identify business ideas/products/services that people would already pay for.

Are you saying that you have no problems that you either have solved or need solved? Solve problems for yourself and sell those solutions. If you had that problems others have had it as well.

I just want to say thank you so much for creating a really valuable, foundational guide on starting a business. There's no gimmick or toxic cult-ish that a lot of other business gurus offer. I love how you don't create false and delusional expectations of things like "how to earn a million dollars". It's truly just about starting a business. Plus you're so warm and friendly, with no ego Patrick Bateman vibes. I honestly love the rare normalcy here 🥺 It's good to know there's an expert with both a brilliant academic background and valuable work experience. Also please I love the Dad humour jokes, please don't discontinue them 😢

Wow - thanks so much! What a thoughtful and kind comment. I'm really glad you appreciated the video. I made it suspecting the probable audience for it was relatively small, but I hoped it would be helpful to at least a few people out there. And glad you enjoy the occasional Dad joke... it can be hard to resist dropping them in!

For me, I have several good ideas, anytime, I shared them with someone who is looking to partner, they immediately were excited. But it’s hard to find someone who is both absolutely trustworthy to be committed to the idea and not just what it can do for their individual career, and also someone like that who is able to focus and concentrate. There should be a forum or a site where people with each of the two strengths can connect. Or is there such a place?

Youve just further convinced me to writing a clear and concise Book on fat loss and weight maintenance, which is what I spoke about w my buddy at Church this past Subday, who said, "I want your body type." Honestly none of my passions align with solving problems or with what I’m good at, and moreover, I’m not interested at all in the one thing I’m good at. I don’t want to do what I’m good at anymore and my stress has gone down tremendously.

An idea for a future video. I'd like to see you do a video on how you edit videos for posting. Like adding text and inserting and finding other videos, like you did with your hamster. I like your method of explaining stuff.

Hi William, I have been learning about social media management to become self employed. I like how it is a scaleable business & I can work from anywhere as long as I have a computer… any thoughts I would love to know coming from your experience?
@TheBestWill Жыл бұрын
Hi - Your question is pretty broad (not sure exactly what you'd like to know), so it's a little hard to answer. That said, Social Media Management seems to be a good field to learn, and then approach small businesses to help them get set up on social media, then manage it for them, to promote awareness of their brands and businesses. Learn how to explain the value of social media to their business (ultimately to drive awareness and sales) so you can explain to prospective customers why they should pay you to do this for them. If you have a good pitch AND you can then deliver by doing a good job managing their social media, then it could work well for you.

@@TheBestWill Thank you! I am 18 and im looking to become self employed and have my own business do you think social media management is a good place to start? I believe it will give me the freedom to focus on building assets then can become my full income

Go to upwork, search for jobs with the term `social media manager` and see the services/problems that the posters are looking for. You'll soon be able to understand what someone who wants to hire a social media manager is looking to achieve.

*Warning - Long comment* Okay, Will. I have been toying with the idea of starting my own custom guitar and wood art business and fully believe in my skills, and quality of products, but I have struggled with taking the steps for a business to make a living. I am impressed with your honesty and your experience. I have done similar to you and toyed with e-commerce sites and just feel there is a better way. I have decided to take your advice and work through your system, well it isn't a system per se, but I can almost piece a step-by-step system out of what you have posted so far. In short, you inspired me and I'm going to follow you. I'll let you know how I progress. I have one question for you in addition to this comment. I feel like I should start a youtube channel providing a glimpse into the woodworking and guitar building. I think it would be entertaining and educational, in addition I think it might be great advertising to show the quality of what I do and point them to a web site. What are your thoughts about that?
@Ma4iam076 ай бұрын
Yes I really think that you should start your own KZbin channel and can you also give me a piece of advice Hmm so I don't have any money to start a business so umm I was thinking to start a KZbin channel to earn from it and then start a business with that money is that a good idea??
I like your style. I would like to start a channel but can’t decide on my niche. Any ideas that may help me?
