This was a great interview as a whole but the best part for me was 22:38 - As a business owner, what are some of the biggest challenges? How you brought up time management, I completely identified with what you said because I love the creativity and fun aspects of coming up with ideas but tend to stay on that way longer than I should when I need to really focus on other parts of the business as well. I liked how you explained that part. I love this clothing brand; I brought the Jesus face print shirt for my brother last Christmas and really love the sweat suit sets. Listen to what they say about adapting the brand name and being willing to change it for their community. Some of y’all are too stubborn and think your idea is the 💩 🤦‍♂️...pro designers will adapt and evolve. Too many startups let their ego drag the business down. Also don’t rely just on Facebook ads cause there are pro designers out there that get ad clicks for 2-10 cents 💯. It’s a bidding system and those designers have experience working for large brands like champion prior to starting their own line. So basically you are competing with those types in your niche...the creative better stand out. This is a dope inspiring podcast from people that put in the work. It’s always best to get experience in the field before you start your own...you can even intern for free. I worked as a creative director for 20 years on nike, starter, adidas, mark ecko etc before I started anything on my own. Now I have 3 successful brands growing strong...the advertising agency experience was the key. Get close to the sun before you start your own brand. 💯. If you’re willing to put in the work and have patience you can do it w/o experience like these guys did. Just be ready to put in work for real. Getting experience first will allow for Facebook ads to really put in work. It saves you a ton of time. Good luck everyone
