I can say from personal experience, Adam is the real deal. He personally taught me how to use a Swirlkiller properly and after that, he GAVE me one, along with a bunch of other stuff! I couldn’t believe it and as I was thanking him profusely, he said to me, “everything you give, it all comes back to you.” I’ve never forgotten that…thanks again, Adam.

Beautiful. And I completely agree with that concept.

Nice conversation. I've been detailing part time (avg 2 cars/month) for about 5 years now, and it has been a great experience. Setting expectations up front, realistic time frames, and charging 'what I would be willing to pay' seem to be my keys to success. I'm a mix of mobile and home based. If I could recommend a follow up video, could it be about the principles in how to navigate taxes, paying ourselves vs the business, and navigating customers who try to take advantage? Really appreciate the content!

If you hate being in a dirty car more than you like to be in a clean one - you know you were meant to detail cars.

I’m just getting into the detail and paint game, and I’m rocking it so far… I’ve been self employed since high school running a lawncare/landscape business

What do you suggest for detailers here in CO in winter when it is below freezing for sometimes a week or more at a time? Find another job to do during then?

Are you a mobile detailer or working out of a garage or shop? You could try to find collector cars to detail in private garages if you're willing to travel a bit - Waterless Wash and Hoseless Wash are great options if you have a heated garage to work in. Or you could offer interior cleaning options to remove winter salt, snow, dirt, etc on floor mats and carpets.

Hey guy's, some great impartial advise, especially about the passion you need to be successful in the business & not taking advantage of customers when you know you could have? Keep the workshop advise coming. Onya from one happy OZI 🙂

Cool content. Would love to see a discussion about how Adam went from the service side to the retail and product sales side, and the lessons learned on that side of the business.
