Hi Dan, I really appreciate the video with all the tips. One question I'm left with: You have a lot of expensive equipment, electric cars, ipads, geo location tags etc. How much capital would you say you put into the business to purchase all of this equipment? Just pondering start-up costs. Cheers!

Thank you so much for this video - absolutely fantastic!! Invaluable content and advice based entirely on your own successful business model!!! I am at the very early stage of looking at going into business as a dog walker and you have inspired me no end to go for it - love your emphasis on creating a niche and aiming for nothing less than "Premium"!! Thankyou thankyou thankyou x
@danfothergill3 жыл бұрын
Hi Carol, thanks so much. The niche idea is great especially for people who do specialise in certain breeds before hand. You can then up your prices as owners will happily pay for their daschund to go on walks with multiple dachunds!

Hi Dan. Really did enjoy your video 😊 Would you mind sharing though how much time you actually allow for a one hour dog walk? Just thinking of your comment about cleaning doggos off etc. Do you and your team allow roughly 1.5 hours per 1 hour... or slightly less? Thinking of setting up my own business next year, so am working on my model now, timings, cost per hour etc. Thanks. Tyra 😊

I’m looking to start up my own dog walking business, how would you recommend in starting? Doing is along side a part time job until you build up enough clients? Or go all in at full time.
@danfothergill3 жыл бұрын
Hello! Apologies for my late reply to you I may have missed your comment. Have you made the jump yet? Or are you still working full time? It really depends on your situation. If you have funds saved up which can allow you to quit your job and jump in to building your new pet business then this would be ideal. If you do not, then working on this before and after your full time job would be the first step. You’ll know in your gut when the time is right to quit trust me.

Love the video and some brilliant advice and ideas! So helpful and good to base it off what you've been through! One question is how you organise group walks? What's your process from first meeting the dog it taking them on group walks and how do you decide which ones you take with which group?
@danfothergill3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! My answer to your question is by using common sense and keeping things simple. Depending on your experience with handling multiple dogs and introducing dogs, if you lack that experience it will feel odd at first and perhaps make you slightly anxious. This also comes down to what dogs you decide to take on. I don’t normally take on big dogs such as German shepherds for my group walks, mainly due to experience where they have not got on with the other dogs but again it really depends on the dog when you go for a meet and greet. You need to make sure you qualify each client getting information such as does their dog like other dogs, well trained, good recall etc.
