I'd like to do this but damaging a house is a concern of mine. So you carefully wash a house and some paint flakes off. The customer calls you out. Now what?
@martinruckschlos38972 жыл бұрын
You want to focus on gallons per minute not psi. You'll worry less this way.
@kevinmsingh2730 Жыл бұрын
You should tell the customer about the area with the flakey paint and tell them because it is defective the only way to clean it is by removing the paint, so it will be up to them if you clean it or not, sometimes the Don't care.. Give them their money back a refund and move on to the next client most people don't complain about things like that and most of the time that doesn't happen but if the client does complain about that and if you did cause it don't try to fix it you could potentially make it worse that's not your profession explain that to them but just tell them that will give you a complete 100% refund and just be sincere and apologize

With gutter cleaning, when starting out because of the use of ladders and heights - should you get general liability insurance before you get customers? What is the consensus for this type of service when owners get started?
@kylel200 Жыл бұрын
That depends on your situation. Available funds, customer profile, etc. I'd say better safe than sorry for both your sake and the customer's. However liability insurance can get pricey when your dealing with ladders and even pricier if you mention roofs. In my experience most customers don't ask for it. But if you're dealing with any type of property management companies or realtors they will most likely require you be licensed and insured in order to become a vendor they use. When I first started out I lost a job for not having insurance. They were understanding I had just started out but it was super embarrassing and unprofessional when they asked if I was insured and I had to tell them no.
@fishinforfun8781 Жыл бұрын
I would get insurance first for peace of mind. If you know you are insured you can give the customer a confident YES. Also put the fact that you are insured in your advertising materials.

I’m a young guy and I’ve been really thinking about just trying to go door to door and ask people if they would let me clean their gutters for idk how much maybe 20 bucks but is that illegal like could I get fined or anything for it? I really hope the answer isn’t bad:( thank you for the time if you do respond!
@Heyhowareya97 Жыл бұрын
Look it up, those rules vary from state to state. Also don’t sell yourself short, 20 bucks to clean gutters is crackhead prices sorry to put it that way, you could easily charge 50-$100 anytime getting on a roof or ladder is involved. I charge 150-200 per roof and customers are happy to pay it. But if it’s a tiny house with not bad gutters I’ll charge $50

I'm 60, retired, and thinking of getting a pressure washing business going to keep me occupied, I've got experience with pressure washers and steam cleaners, mostly washing trash carts and trash trucks, and a home owners direct drive pressure washer (it needs a lot of work to run again) that I use around my house, I have a turbo nozzle and a surface cleaner. Would this be good enough to get started? "Mike"

as long as the pressure washer has 2.5+ gpm output youll be good to start advertising. otherwise it will take way to long and isnt worth the time in my opinion

Hey man, I dig the videos but I have to say you are a bit shy of perfection of your work. I did 4 years of concrete and house pressure washing and if I left a speck of dirt anywhere my boss would make me scrub it off with a brush prior to sealing. I know this video is about gutters but it's your most recent. And for the first time I see your using a wand. In alot of your older videos you seem to be washing a house from 20 feet away? That's not pressure washing. You need to be close at ALL times. You also go ti fast with the scrub brush and didn't see you go both directions. It also matters on the the type of concrete. Exposed aggregate can take a beating and we would swirly head the whole driveway starting with edges and relief joints with white 45 degre and then
@marquisp98352 жыл бұрын
And then brush both directions to eliminate any lines before you seal. Rinse with 35 degree yellow tip. I hope this helps your biz. You do want to be more gentle with brushed concrete and especially stamped concrete. We did alot of nice re colors on stamped but thats a trade secret. Good luck.

You also have to go through years of training being abused as a grunt and learning how To be a plumber to even get to the point where you’re making 500 a day to unclog a toilet or whatever. this business model doesn’t take nearly as much time to start. By the time you’re making any money with your own business being a plumber guys like this have already put a down payment on there house and are living comfy.

@@redditor7548 plumbers also have very high overhead compared to cleaning services. Like a shit load more overhead. Gutter cleaning and shit like that has such a higher profit margin it’s not even funny. Plus most of the time you don’t have to deal with pulling permits, inspectors etc.
