Door to door was the best route. My buddy and I made about $400 a day charging $20 for one can and $30 for both. (We had some competition in the area and had to keep the prices lower) BRING A BROOM AND MULTIPLE GLOVES! There was some vile rotten dog sh- and who knows what else that washed up. I am a mobile detailer and our city will not allow soapy water go into the fresh water storm sewers. Vehicles need to be washed on grass or gravel. So, I don't think I would be able to clean cans as an add on service. I only do interiors to keep things simple Customers wouldn't like the residue from the cans ending up on their lawns or in their gravel driveway. Can cleaning is a nice, simple and profitable business idea, though, and certainly easier than detailing. 🙂

Because of the dirtiness of the job $40-50 sounds good in my opinion but I’ve looked up can cleaning in my area and other major cities. A lot of guys that focus on can cleaning have a 100k truck setup and are only charging $10 for a can and $5 for additional cans. Feel like they are strongly undercutting themselves and making it difficult to compete due to the low service fees they charge. I’m not “hand washing” a can for $10. Yes they can become profitable if they build up to 1,000 cans monthly but that’ll take time and again I feel they are cutting themselves short for that type of service. What’s your thoughts?

With that cheap pressure washer set up, you have to use the client's water. The fancy mobile ones that have their own water and also does hot water clean ups are worth thousands of dollars. Do a small investment first and if the business gets really going then you can consider buying a trailer that has the hot water/cold water combo with it's own water tank. You don't want to go big and find out there's not a huge market for your services and waste your $$ and have to make monthly payments.

I'm 47 the only thing I invested in was $1,000 flyers that I could cut into three flyers each sheet and I used literally a garden hose and chemicals for my first 10 cleanings that let the customers by my power washer I can only clean about 10-12 a day at 50 bucks which is still good money but there's three four hours a day I have to drive slowly around and put flyers out
