I’ve had chronic pain from failed back surgery for 14 years. Some days are better than others. This week has been hell. So I made myself a “Pain & Complain” journal. Tracking the meds, pain scale. Things that have helped things that haven’t. I suppose it’s more of a distraction. But I’m sure nobody wants to hear me complain all day. So I found a place to put it. It’s true, once you accept it as your new normal it gets easier. Best wishes to you ❤

You might find that prepping your food for the week on day, Sunday, stops you from impulse eating. If the healthy food is already prepped, you’ll be less likely to grab a snickers bar. There are tons of KZbin & TT videos on food prep for the week.

I was also stressed when I was diagnosed with Type 2. I was taking Metformin 500mg twice a day (I actually took both at the same time). I didn't take it seriously and the day I was told that I had to take insulin pushed me over the edge.I currently take 1000 mg of Metformin twice daily and 33 units of Toujeo at bedtime. I have since come to grips with my situation. What has helped me more than anything is using a Dexcom G7 meter. It gives me blood sugars every few minutes. However, we still added Ozempic once a week. Currently my A1c is 6.7. The Ozempic will also cause weight loss. YEAH!! So, I am basically saying Hang in there!!

Great ideas. Re veggies, look for recipes that use raw veg in interesting ways, especially from south east Asia. ... For example Vietnamese lettuce cups. Or low carb rice papers rolled up like a spring roll and filled with raw veg like thinly sliced carrots, avocado and bean sprouts (basically vegetable sushi without the cooked rice). ... Or something like a modern "Bruschetta" - one slice of toast topped with a little avocado or a little garlic & oil or hummus, and then mix of diced raw tomatoes and green onions. You can add a poached egg on top for protein. Easy and tasty and mostly veg

Keep going Robin! You are amazing! That is what I say all time! haha Slow and Steady wins the race! I think it is hilarious because, not only do I believe that, and use that to help myself, but my husband is a marathon runner, so he always gives me shit about it. haha - in a good way. 🤣 I am trying to figure out how to track my moods and energy level. And not just because it is a thing to do, or a planner thing. No, I struggle with MDD, and I tend to go in cycles. My psychiatrist and I want to start charting how my moods, and energy levels are, etc. At first I ordered a horizontal Happy Planner and thought I would put the daily number on the calendar page for each day, and then in the weekly area , write something about my moods and energy each day. That does sound ideal. I haven't gotten the planner in the mail yet. However, I get overwhelmed and I am worried it will end up in a pile on my desk and be like one more chore I need to uncover. haha. So I am trying to think of literally smaller ways to do this. I am thinking pocket rings, or passport TN. IDK. Thank you for sharing your process with us!

Jardiance was working fine for me until I started having yeast infections. Its not a hygiene issue but the fact that you are eliminating sugar through your urine. I also had UTI's. Upon further research I found out about necrotizing perineum. Fournier Gangrene! Please do your research, I know you will. I dont mean to frighten you, but it was a game changer for me with the side effects I was experiencing. I no longer take Jardiance and Im doing full KETO! Along with freestyle libre Im taking back full control of my type 2 diabetes without medication. I have lost 15lbs. My A1c is lowering. You got this, Im rooting for you!!!!

Stick to the Jardiance if you can. That helped me a lot. I incorporated intermittent fasting and walking to help get my numbers down. I did the continuous monitoring for a month to find my trigger foods. I found that granola and yogurt kept me in the 200’s for 4 hours. Also getting good sleep helps.I used weeks this year to track food, sleep, exercise and glucose. For next year, I will use plum planner that I customized. Rooting for you!

I have not been good about testing my blood sugar daily, but setting up a tracking system in my planner might help me with that! (What can I say? I work for the government, so I like filling out forms!) I liked how you showed affordable, simplified options. Really great ideas! You are absolutely on track and doing all the right things. The disastrous complications diabetes can cause are much more likely to occur when people don't make any necessary life changes. It is so good that you are taking this seriously! I'm on Metformin, Jardience, AND a slow-release daily insulin shot, and my A1C is hovering around 6.9, but now I am walking 3-4 times a week, so I am hoping to see some improvement at my next doctor visit in November. I just turned 56, and the weight loss part is so hard at this age. I eat a lot of frozen Lean Cuisines (under 40 carbs), small portion sizes.

This video is timely for me because I need to get back on track with weight loss. Back in 2012-2013 I lost 100 pounds. I gained about 20 back and stayed there for years. Then menopause hit and it felt like 40 pounds just appeared on my body. I don’t have any other health issues and I’d like to keep it that way. I lost the weight with Weight Watchers, so unfortunately tracking is what makes that program work. This video gave me some great ideas for that. Thanks, and good luck to you on your health journey. My partner also has diabetes and will likely start dialysis at the end of the year. He drastically changed his diet and was able to improve his test results significantly, but unfortunately the kidney damage was already done.

Very timely for me-- started dealing with prediabetes in July, then this week was in the ER with Afib. I have a small Mead 2 year pocket calendar that I started using for doctor appointments. It's easier to write down my next appt in that than trying to use my phone while standing at the check out desk. Also, easy to see scheduling conflicts. After this ER experience, I'm also going to use the notes pages to list my diagnoses, meds, and doctors. It would have been nice to be able to just hand that to the nurse instead of trying to go back and forth verbally making sure the meds list they had for me was correct. Thanks for showing that black Pen + Gear calendar at the end. I saw them but the cover was boring so I never looked inside! Had no idea it had the habit trackers. Oh, and I've been using a composition book for prediabetes stuff and will be starting a separate one for the Afib. Thank goodness for back to school season at Walmart, I found some cute ones.

Thank you for opening up and sharing. Good tips and reminders. I’ve also been struggling with chronic issues sometimes related to food. I’ve kept a food & health journal of some kind for years and years. Started with my fitness pal to track for weight loss and calories. I think “acceptance” is a huge part journey. And also processing the GRIEF from the changes you must make. always remember Amy graham from bad ass Valkyrie and her advice from one of her videos.EMBRACE YOUR OWN PACE. It’s ok to struggle and we all do it differently. Love your videos robin. Thank you

I should also say I’ve been keeping a notebook bullet journal for my health and food tracking now, and it works very well. I have two pages per day no matter which size I use and I swap B6slim B6 and A6 so I can use all my leather covers. It keeps me motivated to keep doing it. And I like having a history so I can look back if I need to, which I do quite often.

Number 3! I love Lume! I've been using it for about a year and a half - tangerine for spring and summer, lavender sage for fall and winter. I prefer the stick over the cream, but that's because I don't like stuff getting under my nail. I'm looking forward to the new sweat eliminator for under-boob and crotch. Anyway, I love your videos and appreciate this health journal. I have some heavy-duty diagnoses, and I think this will help.

Now I just jot down my weight and basic meal information in a journal. I keep the notes to look over time to time. GO Keto With Casey and Dr.Eric Westman helped me stay on track. With Jardiance you HAVE to drink SO MUCH WATER. That's how the medication works. Like 80oz per day minimum. There are nasty side-effects if you don't. Dizziness is also a common side-effect.
