I'm looking for non het patterned tangerines within the next few years, I know I'm gonna need to avoid hypo and be prepared for it to take quite some time, but with more research and the right starting group this year and next year... Very informative! Very concise and excellent advice for starting out. I'm mainly working with New Caledonian species, but am interested in getting into Leos on a small scale, they have amazing phenotypes! This hit the spot. I've got more than $1K to start this, so I should be good. Appreciate it. Liked. Subscribed. Following you now on IG too.

Thank you for this video, it was very encouraging. I find the super giants fascinating and would love to start a project with them. Any special advice when it comes to breeding super giants? What not to pair with? I’d love to see this line advance in color and interesting bold patterns, does that sound like a good direction to go? Again thank you for your time 🙏🏼

Thanks for watching and the kind words. As with any morph, just be aware of your HETs to be certain that you are getting what you want as an outcome. We will be doing an awesome Luna Live on July 18th focused on Super Giants, so stay tuned.

I started my Godzilla Super Giants last year with 1 pair and now have 10 atm. I Use larger tubs* like V70s because they grow fast. My first Female normal at 4mths weighed 95grams, she still a baby😊 Clutches are like twins keep them together to 6” then separate You have to grow them out to differentiate the giants out and focus on the Supers kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqCto2qCbKqfbMk

I found a couple morphs I really liked, but one of them had an over bite. Would that transfer to the babies and be something to worry about? Not looking at getting rich, but I'm interested in seeing how they come out and would like to sell some too to get more and expand. Appreciate any and all info and advice!

Is it harder if i start with the african fat tailed gecko? Some breeders told me that they're harder to breed, is that true?
@LunaGeckos5 ай бұрын
They are a bit harder than leopard geckos.
@captaincolin4774 Жыл бұрын
So once you got to the part after the first batch of breeding, you mentioned keeping a male and two females, they definitely cannot breed with each other right? I mean they all have the same dad, did you mean to mention that in this same process you would recommend getting another male and possibly females from other geckos as to avoid insest and the consequences of that? Just a little lost is all.
@LunaGeckos Жыл бұрын
Reptiles are not the same as mammals. They are line bred with no issues. It’s basically how line bred morphs like Tangerines and Black Nights are created.
@captaincolin4774 Жыл бұрын
@@LunaGeckos Gotcha, I did a little more research after asking this and got basically the same answer. I appreciate the response. I do have a question about long term blood line breeding. Should a new bloodline be introduced every 2-3 generations to avoid genetic defects? Or can the same blood line be line bred for multiple generations without the need to introduce an outside bloodline?

Yes. Very common with reptiles. You won’t have to outcross for several generations.

@@LunaGeckos When you cross G1 with the first father and get a new batch G2 do you cross them with another male from G1 or cross them again with the 1st father? Should you and can you breed any G2 at all with the previous G1 males? What are some rules you should lay out when it comes to breeding? Such as never breed this gender with this generation etc etc.? Also can you breed any of the males to previous Generations or with the 1st mother? If not why is that?
@ScottyHunter2 жыл бұрын
Why does the male get a much larger tub than the two females? Just curious.
@LunaGeckos2 жыл бұрын
We use the male tub for breeding by putting the females in with the male. It gives them more space when together.

Depends how quickly you want to produce. If you want to breed immediately then you need adults. If you don’t mind waiting till next season, then you can do babies. However, I would make sure they are old enough to confirm sex.
