Nice first episode of your guide. It gives me a few ideas on how to start my first city. It was a little fast paced, but nothing that couldn't be overcome by lowering the playback speed when needed. On another note, I know at the beginning you said this was going to be a non-modded city, but since you've already got Move It installed, might I suggest adding either Toggle Overlays or Whiteness Toggle to eliminate the whiteout condition whenever you open one of the info-view panes? It would make it a lot easier for your viewers to see what you're doing. Keep up the good work.
@play4fn5 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment and support! You're right that Move It was installed by default (I have a habit of including some useful mods even in my no-mod list!), and I forgot to disable them. However, the goal of these episodes is to show the vanilla experience of the game, and I didn't use any mods, even though Move It was there. I'll make sure to update the mod list for the next episode. I appreciate your suggestion, and I agree that using Toggle Overlays or Whiteness Toggle would be helpful. However, since I don't want to break the no-mod aspect, I don't think it would be right to use them in these episodes. Even though I have them enabled in my usual mod list and have used them in other videos. Thanks again for your suggestion and your kind words. 😊❤

Thanks for the comment! Well, after the ECONOMY 2 update, I tried different ways to start the city, and in those where I didn’t use mines, farms, and oil wells, my city went bankrupt! I think the game now focuses much more on these aspects after the update. But this was just my personal experience, and it might not be entirely accurate.

@@play4fn Thank you, and I am seeing the same from my own research - while I love the challenge, it does feel Eco2.0 needs some tweaking if that is a necessity to avoid bankruptcy. I still think they are making steps in the right direction. Great content! Looking forward to the next.

Nope, just don't put services you aren't able to pay for (except for light and water), even if the citizens are mad, ignore them and keep expanding until you are in green. It's really simple, just don't add everything they need at the first minute, of course you're gonna go bankrupt.
@play4fn5 ай бұрын
@@hanniaedithmartinezadame794 Well, after Economy 2, it’s not that simple anymore, and that’s the problem. Unhappy citizens = negative budget and bankruptcy! Yes, you are right. It’s possible to delay building the high school and some other services. I did start a save on this map and it is at 167k population for my first sort of successful city. I suck at this game and road layout. This video is the only one I have discovered that used this extremely hard to deal with map. One road in but, it's mostly flat land. And the start 3x3 grid is actually in a horrid place if you ask me. I'm currently not sure how to save my city from dying now. I found this video long after I built my city. It was my 4th attempt and the only one that actually worked for over 100 hours till I hit a death spiral. I dont know how to stop that. I want to re do my road layout, but there are so many tall buildings that are full of ppl and level 5. Should I be scared to create thousands of homeless ppl to save my city?
@scottfelt513Ай бұрын
I found this game after 2.0. Also, I never took out a loan because other ppl's videos were saying that loans were not a good idea. I don't need one now in that save file. It makes around 800k an hour. There is a slight problem with my nuclear, big coal power plant and some other places that don't get their trash picked up. I made districts and everything. Also, I have the industrial trash place, an incinerator and a small landfill, yet the garbage at those specific places keeps piling up (Specific places: Power plants and fire depts. Not my trash places, those eat trash very quickly yet they don't utilize all of their garbage trucks). I don't know how to fix that problem or how to force the garbage places to prioritize those places first then everything else. Is there a way we can force city services to do things? Those places are a very decent chunk of my city income. I would share the map hoping someone could take a look at it and see how it could be fixed. I just don't really know how to share my save files.

Thank you for your comment, and I'm sorry to hear you had a tough experience. Personally, I’m not afraid to temporarily displace some citizens if it means improving the city, but that’s up to you. Remember, there are no bad experiences in this game; each city teaches you something new for your next build. For your save files, you can find them at: C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\LocalLow\Colossal Order\Cities Skylines II\Saves You can also share your map directly in the game through the map options on ParadoxMods, so others can access it. Thanks again!

@@play4fn I didn't notice anyone replied, sorry. If I want to save my city I think it will take a lot of work. Re working all my tram lines, roads, and buildings that need to be gotten rid of. Is 320 million dollars in my bank enough to start tearing things apart and fixing what needs to be fixed?
@play4fnАй бұрын
@@scottfelt513 Well, this task indeed requires budget management and a prioritized list of actions. You shouldn't demolish everything at once and risk going into negative budget territory, which could lead to the city's bankruptcy if you can't replace what you've torn down with your available funds. However, you can assess the necessary budget before starting the work. Alternatively, you can save the game before beginning and try it once. If you see it's working, you can then dedicate the needed time for detailed adjustments. Thanks for reaching out, and good luck with your city overhaul! 😊
