Im tired of not living the way i want to when at the end of the day, we ultimately have the control! im going to do what i love and a lot of what i have been feeling lately resonates nicely with the idealogy behind your own podcast. which im excited to start listening to! I'm done sitting here not happy with my life, im ready to live creatively and with my truest and purest passions guiding me into the life i desire. this video found me at the perfect time and i am truly grateful. Hands down having an OUTLINE is so key! I felt like in the beginning I had all the ideas and would just blabber lol. Now it allows me to structure my ideas which also helps with editing later on as well!

Totally understandable! I think that's also what held me back for a while but honestly the iPhones are such good quality these days, if that's what's easiest, go for it. You can even get those $25 lapel mics or mini mics from Amazon to have that microphone quality/effect (they take seconds to sync on bluetooth) and you're good to go! Let me know if the helps!

Amazing! So glad it could be helpful! It looks like the $189 one is just "SSL 2" edition where as the $250 one is "SSL2+". I'm assuming the 2+ means it has 2 channels plus 2 phones (2 knobs, "phone a" and "phone b"). We have the $189 one and it just has one knob for "phones" and we have no issues. It comes with the XLR's and headphones so that's nice :)

Thank for video. Just starting out and I have a zoom H6, mics and my iPhone and IPad. Setting a 2 person podcast. How do I capture the video portion with that equipment I’m confused 😐 any wisdom will be a huge help!

Of course! Good question :) to my knowledge it sounds like you’ve got the audio interface/recorder (zoom h6) and video tool (iPhone/ipad down) so you just need podcast mics + XLR cables so you can plug the mic (using the XLR cable) into the zoom h6 recorder and start recording. That should set you up for an audio file! I’ve never used the zoom h6 but my guess is you connect that to a laptop to get the file. If you want to do a visual podcast as well as audio, you can use your iPhone to record and plug into the same laptop. This is where you’ll need a system like OBS to sync the audio file from your zoom h6 and your video footage from your iPhone. When you set up those audio and video sources in OBS and press “start recording”, it will automatically sync. In the latter half of the video I have some visuals of how you can do that! Let me know if that helps 🫶🏾🫶🏾

Oh no worries at all! Video is actually a newer edition but I think majority of podcast listeners are via audio. :) I say if video is too much to start, stick with simple audio (whatever to keep the momentum of you starting) because podcasting is such a long game, you can always switch to video later if time and resources allow. 🤗

Definitely on KZbin! TikTok also just started allowing horizontal 10 minute videos so you can probably do longer clips there but unfortunately most socials are limited to short form :( but I recommend cutting them into smaller shorts/clips to get fresh eyes! It's a great strategy!

So you use OBS and Wondershare? Why not just use Wondershare?

OBS is the software that syncs the audio + visual into one file and then once it spits out the one file, I bring it into Wondershare (an editing software) to edit the video/add music/add texts, etc. :)

Honestly, I think the biggest thing is just practice! 🤍 It may feel/sound uncomfortable in the beginning but as you continue you notice what you want to improve/fix and you'll be surprised how much progress you make!

Hahah! Trust me I get it 😂 When in doubt though, literally an iPhone will do the trick. If you want to spice it up/have crispy audio, I'd just use a mini mic from Amazon you can plug into your phone and call it a day :)

This is my problem, I have anxiety and I want to start a faceless podcast. Everyone is heading to video podcast, but I don't believe you have to have a video! I'm feeling discouraged. I have a lot to say, but I don't want to have a VIDEO podcast 😭💔🙏✝️

You totally can! Podcasts were originally audio so whatever gets you going I think is the best option :) Video is still a bonus for most listeners, in my opinion! Don't let it stop you from reaching your people!
