How to Start a Press-On Nails Business | Alright so you got major momentum building inside of you. You are ready to go and start selling online... but how do you do it officially, and most importantly legally.
In today’s video I am essentially going to take you through the step-by-step on how to get set up more so on the business legal aspect of things. Because this is important and whether you are selling press-ons, cuticle oils, kits anything tangible you need this information. And the information in this video is not only helpful for selling press ons but also selling in general with or without an online store.
This is not legal council, just first hand info on what I’ve done in the past to sell stuff online and offline also. Also keep in mind that every state may be different so verify with your state to see what and if any of the information shared today pertains to you.
Right off the bat, you do NOT need to be licensed as a nail technician to start selling press-ons, you are not physically working on the public. Listen, if you can believe this there are actually a lot of salon owners who don’t even have a tech license to do manicures, they just own the business.

If you are just selling on Etsy you shouldn't need to get the sales tax license or an EIN correct?

It’s fine. Any 1099 income via your EIN you will report on Schedule C of your Tax Return. According to what I’ve read, for example You’re filing As Mary Smith Single or Married Sole Prop Filing w/ your social In schedule report any income you received from any one that 1099’d you (Say a company hired you for a nail event they had you fill form W9, since you’re a contractor not employee, and you put your EIN instead of SSN)

@@PaolaPonceNails for the EIN it asked me if I was a sole proprietor and that’s what I put because I am so I’m good right? If I earn any income towards my soon to be business I will file under that instead of my SSN? (Sorry I’m confused)
