@@kayee4134 - I kind of just fell into it. We bought some property in the country and built a barn. I filmed it being built and posted it on KZbin for friends. It was kind of fun so I started thinking about the process of building a barn. I noticed that there was not much information on the internet about the costs to build a pole barn. So I put my $200 Samsung J7 on a tripod and just started talking. Pow 78K views and growing 700 views a week. So I thought well that was helpful so I just started serving up videos on barns. This is such a narrow niche I will have to expand it. My next thing I need to do is buy a tractor so I am doing research and sharing. I reached out to some tractor people and will be doing collabs in June. I have no idea where this journey will lead to but I find it very challenging. I have early on set dementia and the technical parts of this has my brain in gear all the time. Bottom line is what interests you? What are you already doing that you can just tie into your channel? It is kinda of morose but maybe someday I will blog on my daily life as it slowly slips from my mind. I bet I would own that niche!

I've been doing KZbin for like a year now, trying to upload weekly. I feel like in the beginning I didn't know what niche to choose because I just loved so many things, but then later I realized it's actually difficult to keep up with all of it, and I felt lost and that nothing was really in order. So, recently I decided I'll do something that I've always loved to do, and that's: Words. I used to love learning new words when I was younger, I'd even write personal dictionaries for myself. Which led me to think to try and present that to the world, because what if there are people out there like me who love to get introduced to new words and phrases? Honestly, I just started this series a few days ago, so it's hard to predict where it'd take me. I think I could also squeeze in book reviews though, and uploading poetry videos, considering I think they'd be relatable. And maybe book shopping vlogs. In that sense, I guess I could be practicing a variety of content but I'm also niched down. Now I don't know if anyone really read this far because this is one hell of a long comment I just wrote😂 but yeah, if you did reach this far thank you so much for listening.

A huge issue I always had was comparing myself to other KZbinrs. I feel many can relate, when they find a channel that is doing the same thing as them, but better, become unmotivated. And that's the huge issue, becoming unmotivated. You feel less confident, and less motivated to put out your content because you feel it won't be enough. But if there is one major thing I learned. It's that if you solely focus on your own grind and making content you love and enjoy you'll do fine. I started my channel earlier last year and never shouted it out. I just did what I knew and what I loved and people liked it. Regardless of where you are at with your channel, enjoy the little things. Bc if you're doing stuff you're enjoying without focusing on anyone else, you increase your chances of being found.

My wife and I started our KZbin channel to do a review on a lawn mower that just came out. We've made several videos on it and they've done surprisingly well. We've made several other videos on different subjects, but once the hype on this mower dies down, we're wondering where to go from here. At this point we're a variety channel but more focused on projects around the home. Great video! I'll be sure to check out more of your content to hopefully help us find a finer niche.
