Great video again. I have a Cub Cadet XT1 I have the reverse button on the whole time and never seem to have any problem. I do a lot of going around trees and bushes and things, so I use the reverse alot. Again no problem, just saying in case some one wants to leave it in reverse while mowing. Thank you for all your videos. They are so helpful.

I have one of these, will turn over but not start. 22 hours on it. I will try exactly what you did, I learned something new about the choke. It runs great when it runs. Drove it into the shed and hadn't started since. I'm hoping its something minor....like operator issue, lol.

Thank you’re another great video buddy! Is your mower lift for that you use for smaller machines ie 21” walk behind etc electric or hand crank? Also who makes it I need to get one for my shop. A also watched how you used it with the Aries snow blower as a third hand being that I work by myself that would come in hand also. Sure is nice to see you back wishing you all the best sir.

@@JohnsonsSmallEngines Thank you sir! You have been such an inspiration to me. I ended up with a permanent disability after a car accident and four back surgeries! I lost my career but always had a small side small engine shop just to make extra money but nothing serious. After my accident and losing my career I needed to find a way to support my family so I decide to open my shop full time and your channel helped to inspire me to do so! Thank you for all you do for us new guys you have made a huge difference in my life and the life of my family I appreciate you so much buddy. Have a great night.

Always enjoy your HOW TO videos. I've got a Cub Cadet XT1 46" that runs fine forward, but is real sluggish in reverse. Difficult to back up any incline. Have you addressed this in a prior video? Got any idea what is wrong? Thanks.

Haven’t had any with a sluggish reverse yet. If you can take a video of the issue and send it to my email address, i would take look.

You have the old choke system but the new system is an automatic choke.

IF you can go uphill forward OK but not in reverse, it is mostly due the lesser weight transfer when the drive wheels are on the "upside" of travel....

Actually, the fix was strange but simple, and a complete accident that I figured it out. There is a rod between the pedal and transmission that lays on an angle iron. The angle iron had a significant buildup of dirt and grass on it in the channel where the rod is located. For some reason, there was no obstruction when going forward, but the buildup prevented the pedal from allowing the rod to operate the transmission in reverse. Since then, I've been able to blow all dirt and grass off the angle iron after each mowing and have never had a problem since then. Odd I'm the only one to have this problem.@@ainttakenanyshit

I have a John Deere 325. Is there a better mower for mowing on hills?
@JohnsonsSmallEngines
@JohnsonsSmallEngines 2 жыл бұрын
The John Deere if it is a X series. In my opinion is a good machine. Are you having a issue with it on your hills? If you are maybe your hills are extreme??

If you have major hills. Your most likely going to have transmission issues with the cub cadet.

I like the high test out of the pump but with the price at the moment being so high, regular 87 at the pump is just fine.

I use E-0 - 90 octane in ALL my stuff, 08 RAM too. LT-46, iGEN2500 inverter gen, lawn edger, trimmer ALL use it. It is FALSE economy to run anything else as you would be surely having carburetor issues if the E-10 was used - separated water=gunk. ALL lawn gear gas is also stabilized which, if the generator wasn't needed, it would run great after several months in my RAM. When I had an old "cart generator" it would start second pull even after sitting for over a year, (still ran every month to exercise), with the stabilized E-0.... The extra cost of E-0 is quickly nullified by having NO issues caused by stale E-10 gas....
