How long do you water bath them and can you do this with meats?
@able8803 жыл бұрын
@@neotheone6796 with high acid food 10 minutes for jars up to 12 oz - one pint & quart jars 15 minutes cover them with 2 inches of water - with meat and beans you have to pressuer can them for at least one hour - you fill the pot to the brim just under the lid - bring the pressuer cooker to steam allow the steam to vent - 15 minutes then close or install the weight and pressuer cook at least an hour - if you go to long you will loose some of the water in the jar or liquid in the jar

@murieltillman95544 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't use anything but a pressure canner for beans. They are a low acid food and a water bath canner doesn't get hot enough to kill all the possible nasties and /or enable the beans to be shelf stable. Get a good book on preserving, i.e. Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving. It will give you all information necessary to can/preserve your foods safely. Then you can decide for yourself where you can individualize your canning process.
