@@lvega5606 hello and sorry if I have offended someone I myself suffers from life time illness called Crohn so I know how it feels like to be pregnant ( when I am not) so Ofcourse I won’t do this with anyone else I was just being honest what I saw.. nothing to be taken so seriously! Decluttering was stressful and emotionally exhausting when I embarked on this journey, but as I’ve committed to continue in a timely manner (for my own goals) I’m finding it less challenging and more of a relief. Now, I can walk into a room and feel the peace of having less and those items being In their place for me to find and plenty of spare room to enjoy. The garage has been a long-haul project after being in the same home for over 34 years and simply jamming unused items in every possible space. My goal is to be able to get an automatic garage door installed, drywall the cleared off walls and be able to park my car in there this summer. That is giving me the drive to continue this project.

I love these!!!! I’ve been a minimalist for the last few years and I’m always in a decluttering mindset and have found I am actually less sentimentally attached to many items now. One of my BIG goals that I have for this year is to go through ALL of my digital photos that I have scattered all over (Shutterfly, Dropbox, laptops, etc) and I am wanting to declutter those, organize better, and consolidate so they are all in one place and then I will back all of them up on a usb storage flash drive. This is probably gonna take me more than a year bc I have SO many photos 😅 and they are just ever growing bc I take pictures of my kiddos every day 😆 but I am not going to let my self get overwhelmed by this massive project I’m just gonna focus on a little bit every day!

Ah such a good idea! I did that last year and it indeed took me the whole year, but felt SO rewarding when it was done. For me, it really helped to break it up in smaller bits and do a little bit each week. I now have a monthly reminder to go through my photos to keep up with it. Good luck!

Just did a big decluttering as we prepare to welcome our second baby! We don’t have a large home and only 1 hall closet for storage so we really had to get decisive and creative. Under the bed storage is great ;)

I just started another round of decluttering my bedroom and wardrobe. And it already feels sooooo nice! 🤩 I also shopped my own home for decor items for the bedroom and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Instead of buying completely new decor, I know now that everything I have left on my wish list is a nice dry flower bouquet ☺️

My partner and I are moving in the next couple of months and we've been in the process of decluttering. I downloaded your checklist which has been helpful! We also are playing a "decluttering game" with some friends of ours. We pull up a random number generator (1-20) online and whatever number comes up is how many things we need to declutter that day. We text a picture of our items to our friends, and they do the same. It's been a fun way to declutter AND keep in touch with friends that live across the country. It feels like a huge task sometimes, but moving into a smaller home with only items we LOVE and USE without all the extra stuff will feel so freeing! I get tons of inspiration from your channel when it comes to decluttering and minimalism/living simply - thank you!!

I recently got a new kitchen and since I had to take out stuff from all of my cabinets, it was a perfect moment to declutter that area. Amazing how many things I gave away and decided against keeping. I’m feeling much more free now in that area and my new kitchen is simply beautiful. I also did a decluttering of my closet, but I feel like for that I’m going to have to go back soon and declutter more. Again, I got rid of a lot of things. My plan is to declutter all of the areas before our baby is born in June. I hope I will succeed. :) wish me luck!

I'm used to keeping stuff for years at a time before selling them. I have them all stored and lined up in air tight boxes. I do however sell items each week and I have several thousands of smaller items for sale so it takes time. I recently sold a small antique traveling box in wood from the 1800s that I had out for sale for up to 2 years or so and when I finally sold it I was sooo happy. I got my 200€ and I got "rid" of it. Win win. Some things sell quickly, but mostly I have to wait for a long time. It's worth it to me and I am able to wait since I have my own storage rooms where it's hidden away. Of course I'm happy when I get rid of the items, but I'm not about to give them away when I can get more money from them if I just wait and have patience. Furnitures on the other hand is another ordeal, since I can't really hide them. So the ones I have that I'm going to sell I might just have to sell more quickly at a lower price than I want. If I had the room I'd wait though, but it's about priorities.

you helped me to declutter my books! i'm a huge bookworm and i just love the aesthetic of them, so it was definately challenging. but what helped me was the thought, that someone else will find joy with my memories. also, some of the books were old and i would've never read them again. so what was the point of holding on? and now my bookshelf is free for books i really like and i want to be associated with☺️

I found making a pile of books I’m not sure I want to read where I can see it then any that I haven’t read and any I read and don’t feel I want to reread can go. Somethings having I find having maybe step can help de clutter the maybe when it has a defined time period.

My biggest issue when decluttering is the pile of stuff in my house that instead of being put away is in a basket waiting for it to be given away because I have a very big issue with waste so I don’t want to throw anything away

Awesome content as usual!! This definitely helped me refine my post-decluttering ideas. 😊 I want to donate a lot of my items but they are all kinds of different things and in varying conditions (all of them good at least) and I’m not sure how to go about donating all the things (if I have to do it by category or all together). I’ve done clothes and books just fine but I’m slightly worried the centers won’t take my items because they aren’t all great? I guess I’m overly concerned about waste 🤷♀️ Do you just drop a big box of random (but good quality) stuff?
@AshlynneEaton2 жыл бұрын
I would say if it’s good quality and in good condition then definitely you can donate it! There are a lot of organizations out there that are pretty intentional about trying to make sure that they are using the donations that come in 🤍
@Gillian.creates2 жыл бұрын
you would be amazed at what others might find useful! I pretty much donate everything! and for the odd item(s) that can't be sold, if you donate to value village they have to responsibly dispose of things they don't put out for sale

Doing declutter for a year already. Not a very easy task especially with a wife that live in clutter i start with my own office make it more and more clean. I also start with some other room and did few low hanging fruits so my wife start to see the progress (e.g.nsorting cleaning product, get rid of expired food, rmoving one or two cushions, sometimes i even throw away things on her back (few items found in a back of drawer,...) when i am not sure i put everything in my attic or my underground cave so it is easier to take decision if i did not used them after a few months...but a least the items are not on ly view everyday. I struggle with clothes and shoes but decided to buy high quality clothes and shoesso it is easier to get rid of less quality clothes

Some more advice on actually removing the stuff would be really helpful, as I’m never sure what items are actually good to give charities and what would just be make work for the charity no gain. I’m also not sure how to know what to try to sell.

I would love to get rid of stuff in my room, but at the same time i’m sad that i’ll have to get rid of them. It has com to a point that i had to put boxes with stuff in my brother’s room because they were wasting space. But again, i would like to try this process but i’m scared.
