I got my horse, fully green. He's an export so I didn't do much with him in the start. Just basic things like walking on a lead rope, and teaching him not to pull. The rest of the time he just had the time to be a horse and explore his new location. He was so stressed about travelling here. To my surprise he was already a magnet after a view days. He knew me already after a week or so. He started trotting towards me when he was in the fielt and saw me. In the riding area he always sticks with me. It's the cutest thing! Trust is sooo important. This kind of things helps you bonding your horse. Thanks for your video, I'm definitely gonna start practicing this. ❤

Carolyn Resnick's Waterhole Rituals teaches the language of equus and liberty starting with no tack. She grew up with wild horses, learned their habits and communication, even moved up the ranks of a herd and was able to ride a lead mare!!! After trying some of your exercises, I was able to ride him away from the herd/barn and all over adjacent property without issue for the first time. That's an amazing amount of clear, concise, information. I have a Saddlebred that was 6yrs old and green as my first horse. So we've had struggles. He's got some issues from his past; but is full of try, and we have a good bond. I've been wanting to explore Liberty, but didn't know how. Our current ground work covers some of these points and totally misses others. I'm curious why the crouching when asking to yield the hind end?
@briebarcom21904 жыл бұрын
When training a new horse, or any horse. It best to over exaggerate everything you ask for. Till they get it down, once you do you should be able to just look at the hind end and they should move. Not a horse trainer... Like at all. It just something I figured out over the years.

Hi just wondering when starting out should you use a lunge whip first then move onto the schooling whip or can you start straight out with the schooling whip? Really love this video and positive training methods look forward to trying it out x
@SamVanFleet6 жыл бұрын
louise jones Hi! I’ll use different whips based on the horse and what they may need. I usually use a carriage whip when I start the exercises where there is more movement. I’ll desensitize to the lunge whip simply because that’s the tool that has the longest tail on it/makes the most noise/makes the most movement. For most of the work I use a carriage or dressage whip
