Enjoyed the video, always nice to see folks fussing over furrows! Perfection aside I just hook up my 3 bottom and go, no adjustments. Where I screw up I fix with the disc. After 45 years of plowing it works for me.

Great video! Nowadays we use a chisel plow on our wheat fields but on irrigated ground I still see some moldboard plows but they’re all tumble plows 8-10 bottom plows mostly. I’m a dryland guy, no irritated ground.

I like plowing with my 1950 Ford 8n, I set the depth and angles, then after that I rarely have to look behind me, just look forward and listen to the tractor pull. If it sounds like it's pulling a bit too hard I just raise up on the draw bar lever slightly, then put back to original setting once it starts to speed up. It travels quite a bit faster than that with it's 2 12'' plows on it.

Could do with a follow up video! I’ve got the opening sorted in my head, but it’s the next bit I don’t really understand, where you go onto a neighbour’s plot. The finish I think I get, it’s the middle bit… ☺️

Too bad you didn't have some nice sod for this video so it laid over a lot nicer. I match plowed in Southern Ontario, Canada for 17 years, in the 3 furrow class. using a 3x 14" Kvernelands mounted. 13" is better for that class, but we also used it as our main field plow. Best I ever scored was... 132 I think? Usually in the high 120's. Not bad for a hobby plowman. Nice to see a plowing video that isn't about 7 furrows of rollover plough leaving a result that looks like it was chisel plowed. :)

My Grandfather had a neighbor who used a sheep as a Landmark to go straight across the field .. I think the sheep was in the field next to the field he was plowing across the fence.. The problem is the sheep started walking across the field and the Farmer plowed at an agnle across his field .. He was out there plowing all night trying to cover what he had done before any neighbors saw it ..

@Phil Hall No it really happened he was out there all night trying to straithen things out. Another neighbor used to like to go the Dance Halls drinking and staying out late.. He would put the tractor in the furrow and jump off sit under shade tree until tractor got to the end of the field .. then drive a puck up to end of field jump in tractor and turn it around.. He fell asleep the Tractor kept plowing until it ran into Indian Lake.. His name was Jack Clarke Vicksburg MI .. His Widow was still a Substatute Teacher at my High School in the late 1970's .. Her Son David Clark was a Kalamazoo City Police Offier .. he rand a Red Light responding to a Fire and T-Boned a Fire Truck ,,

Hey man! B 4 u start, your TRACK WIDTH is F A R too W I D E. - how can u expect a tractor - little or large to pull straight and efficiently - get your line of draft / draught ( DRAFT it is ) set right THOUGHT that even the BMC Mini had elementary draft control - so why the wheel - and so fa out PLUS ALL That weights on the plow ( Plough ). A well set plow doesn't need additional weights, Pulls better and will do a better job all round. ( FYI kindly refer to Ferguson and maybe Ransomes guide books on setting up plows Interesting commentary + your time taken to show how it goes in real time - the adjustments etc . good vid.

How much do you charge per hr, £ 0.1/6 Did you say, £ 450.00 an Acer, = 387 hrs That's if he puts his foot down. I reckon that's reasonable, I've got 112 acres to do, so I will pay you with my Pension, is that all right, well, I am rather busy at the moment, so if you have < past > buy then, get your son to pay me. Bmc tractors do not have draft only a spoil just up and down. And with ground conditions as they are with hard tramlines you should weight the plough accordingly.
