friend of mine sprinkled a bit of water using water can over his fire to cool the fire, then immediately put his hand on a log to see how hot it is. one trip to the hospital later and he learned even if the flame is gone, seconds after extinguishing the fire the logs are still very hot.

Worked like magic!! Thank you for all your advice, we spent 3 hours trying to light a fire with accelerants and had nothing but disappointment. Tried your method - had a fire within 10 minutes and it burned all night without having to do a thing! Tree bark is ESSENTIAL 🙌🏼

How to start the perfect fire in a pit. 1.dump a bunch of small peaces of wood into your fire pit. 2. add a few bigger peaces of wood on top of the smaller peaces of wood 3. pour lots of diesel fuel over the wood 4. stand back and light mach and toss the light match at the diesel smoked wood 5. camp fire complete
