Some of my personal tips (I've been transitioning for 6 months now): 1 - After each wash day, write down the products you used and the technique you've used and then rate your hair for reference. Trust me, this will be so helpful as you learn about your hair especially if you're a bit forgetful. 2 - Take a lot of photos. Maybe 2 a month to track your progress. I only realized how far I've gotten when I saw what my hair looked like in the first month. (my hair was shit, but back then I thought my curls were poppin.) 3 - don't fuss too much about the hair type chart. Your curls will transform from month to month. Wait a bit before categorizing your curls. I know when I first started, I thought I was a 2b but now I'm a good 3a.

Fun little tip for sleeping on your hair: I prefer to buy second hand so I just got a silk/satin scarf from goodwill for like $1 that was big enough to wrap around the majority of my pillow for when I go to sleep! It also lets me keep my sleeping pillow matching with the rest of my bed :)

I just had my big chop yesterday so for any of you who took a long time and big effort to grow your hair trust me i feel you!! At first when I knew that there was no other solution than to chop off the heat damaged and split ended hair i felt like crying bcuz i felt like all that effort in the past few years was gonna go away ... but then I decided to cut of 5 cm ( like two weeks ago) as a start and yesterday when I decided to cut it again . I planned to only cut off 4 or 5 cm off my hair only then do the same after two or three weeks but as soon as I started i was like you know what im gonna cut 8 cm and so i did and i braided my hair and put on a hair mask to deep condition and when I opened the braids the next day i was like okay maybe i cut off a bit to much but im gonna see how it looks after and when I finished washing my hair and everything the ends just looked... the best way it had ever been ... it looked healthy and didn’t have any split ends ... and thats when i know its worth it and now as I finish focusing on the healthy and the strength of my hair i would start focusing on the length and definition.. to achieve the curls of my dream!!... so to anyone out there afraid off having their big chop trust me it’ll be totally worth and someday you’ll have your dream curls!!! Hope I inspired someone.. stay safe you all!! 💗💗💗

i do want to get my curls back but i really can’t cut my hair, it’s just because i cut my hair before and looked really bad and had a whole horrible stage of my life and i feel like cutting off my hair somehow connects to that. idk i just really dont feel like feeling insecure again and having to go to school like that. i still don’t think my hair length is the best but its a lot better than it used to be. basically what im saying is that i look really bad with short hair and really don’t wanna do it again.

You can use a blow dryer with a diffuser. Turn the heat down 💓 your hair likely will dry super frizzy, especially at the beginning of your journey, if you don’t. Diffusing helps cut down on frizz

i don't know if they specify you need to style it dry, but styling it wet is a LOT easier and a lot less damaging, specifically using a brush like a denman brush or a wet brush! it also means that you'll have lovely full bodied waves after you take the bun out! also if you have to use a hairspray use one that says it's better for the enviroment as it tends to have better ingredients for your hair, but still are strong! ALSO, one last thing, if you have to take out the bun and put it back in, if your hair is now dry you'll have waves that act as a guide to re twist it into a bun (if you do twist it into a bun if you do another way this won't help) this'll make it a lot easier and you'll just need to slick it back, but if you have a good product to slick it back, such as a gel, (PLEASE a no flake gel, if the gel flakes it can look really bad and it can cause build up) your hair should still be healthy! i hope these help!

Hi! I have a 2c texture on half my hair and a 2b texture on the other half of my hair!! If some pieces wave and some don’t that’s just your natural hair texture! Some tips that have helped me. I use a cream and a gel, I think gel is the most helpful product for wavy hair. I couldn’t go without it. My favorite is LA looks. Some techniques that have helped me are brushing my hair strictly in the shower and scrunching my hair out of the shower (no raking or pulling your hair down in any way). Then plop for 20 minutes and let it air dry. It is a life saver! If I don’t do those things my hair doesn’t turn out well

But now my hair got volume again and is healthiish. When it rains the shortest bits of my hair gets curly but only like 5 strands. But still cant be called curly at all XD Do anyone know what should i do? (Btw i dont use heat at all)

Okay, so when I was younger like around, 4 or 5 I used to have like 3a-3b ish curls and I used to like pull the curls and try to flatten them with water and I would blow dry my hair every time I washed it. Now it is like a weird wave shape, sometimes when I put my hair up the hair by my ears does go into ringlets and some by the top of my head, as well as around the bottom. I do dye my hair, but not that often and i always go to a professional when getting it done. If I finger coil my hair they do go into ringlets but idk if everyone’s hair does that, MY mom is always talking about the beautiful curls I had when I was young and I have seen pictures as well, and I just wanted some help as to what I should do to help with finding what my hair type is and as to what I should do to get the curls I had when I was young back. Any help is appreciated so if you do take the time to reply and help is very much appreciated.

I have a 2c/3a curl type and I cut it to my chin recently. My curls are barely forming and they were super ringlettly when they were longer. Does that normally happen with this hair type?

@@clara-vp5ve no problem. also i just found out that with looser curl types, the hair has to be considerably long for the the curls to really come out. that's probably why why your curls are limp now
