Hi Val. I enjoyed ur class. U're so much fun! Ure very sequential, respectful, engender interaction and students. Students are able to repeat what u say because ur English is clear and u speak at a pace students can follow. However, think u shouldn't say we don't speak Chinese in our class l... instead say we will use it for clarity. I looooove ur class.

Yes, I do. Teams collect stars, and the team with the most stars gets five extra points for their final exam score at the end of the term.

Why not? :))) Thanks for your input! I get where you're coming from, but every district/school has its own rules, especially for ESL teachers. While some areas may stick to English only, many researches are showing that using the students’ first language can actually help them learn better. An English-mainly approach is better because it lets us connect with them and support their understanding. My goal is to help my students as much as possible, even if that means using a bit of Chinese sometimes. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts!
