Really depends on the scale of your concept/item/sampling/production/shipping etc! You can start a business with just one item and invest $1000-2000, or do a multiple pieces or an entire collection up to $50000 or more. Use what you got and are willing to invest, and work your way up!

I loved this! I'm hoping to go to Fashion Design school next year and I've always wanted to have my own brand for petite woman because I struggle to find clothing for me that fits that is my style. I'm 4 10. So starting my own brand that caters only to petite woman would be great! I knew there's a lot to starting a clothing brands but not this much. Julia u choose vertical integration, right? it means you do everything in house from beginning till the emd. does vertical integration makes the final product more expensive for you, and also the customer? i mean if you did it with samples, it would come out cheaper right? For doing everything independently, I managed to make smart choices so I could keep prices reasonable and still be ethical. If I would have outsourced sampling, website development and other design costs it’d been way more expensive! Thank you ❤️ I’ll try to do my best
