I like having kickers & DEF because that's part of fantasy football.. I'm starting a dynasty this year & kickers & DEF will be redrafted year after year & can't be kept. They will be thrown into the rookie + free agent draft. Football includes offense, defense & special teams & the point of dynasty is realism yeah?

Thoughts on having a traditional record based seeding for top 5 playoff spots and the 6th seed is determined by highest PF not already in playoffs. So you get that traditional fantasy for the most part and the last spot is that luck/skill balance. We were thinking about trying this in a league.

My startup is going on rn in a 16 team league, 1QB. and I traded up to the 1.04 for my 2.06, 3.11 and 4.06. I got the 4.13 back too. I ended up getting Jamaar then missed out on CJ Stroud so I traded Jamaar and Javonte Williams for Garrett Wilson, CJ Stroud and and 1.10 in rookie draft. he offered the trade, I felt I coulda got more but I had to smash accept. I even doubled back to make sure the trade was correct lol.

So you already did your start up draft? Like just now? Wondering cause I just started one and some guys want to do the draft now also. Some doing though

@@kurtasy yea so there are 2 ways to do it with rookies if you want to draft now. U can draft kickers in place of rookies: so the first person who takes a kicker gets the 1.01 in rookie draft. The 2nd person to take a kicker gets the 1.02 and so on and so forth. The other way leagues do it is where you draft normally with the vet players in draft. Then the reverse order of startup draft is how the rookie draft is. So in a 12 man league, the 1.12 would get the 1.01 in rookie draft and 1.11 would get the 1.02. And when u draft, it’s best to do a slow draft, so each person gets 8 hours to pick (most don’t take 8 hours) and you pause draft overnight.

Thanks. So if I do the initial draft with vets only does sleeper automatically give you the option to do a second rookie draft? Or is there something I have to do to set it up?

In my rookie draft, have the 1.03 and 1.04. League with 3 flex spots my QBs are Kyler, Stafford, Bryce Young, and Levis. Wide receivers are Ceedee, Nico collins, London, Flowers, Osborn and Treylon. What should I do with my picks? Was thinking I trade one for the 1.02 and get Marv. And draft Daniels/Maye with 1.04?

Do not trade up, it's not worth the price. Take the best available values at the 1.03 and 1.04. We have no idea what those will be before the NFL draft, but it looks like Nabers and Maye right now

Also with draft pick trading, would you guys allow people to trade assets not technically in Sleeper by default it allows 3 years of draft picks. Would you allow a team to "trade" any of those future assets? Is that ever come up in any of your leagues?

No team should be allowed to trade draft picks any further than three years out. 2027 is just too far away, trading those assets now can ruin a dynasty team.

@@thedynastydomain thanks for the response! I 100% agree. We had some teams try to do that and we vetoed that portion of the trade, they went ahead and went through with it without those picks. I thought it was wild that they even came up with that lol

Everyone says no kickers and defense but nobody says why?

It's unpredictable and offers no consistency year after year. It's another variable that isn't necessary, and can cost you a championship. Dang near valueless positions should not dictate whether you win or lose a game/league. Hope this helps!

@@WilliamMann7 I don’t love the only offense aspect as well but the defense just being one entity sucks. If you could have individual players or positions of players it would be way better. Of course that would only complicate things further
