Jon Sine, Thank you so much for this information. I'm a recording artist. That was sign to Motown back in the 90's through a indie label. (Which was not mine) But doing my history in the industry and working with an array of artists and producers. Now I have the chance to start and have my own label. So again I Thank you and hope maybe one-day we can meet and maybe do some business together. I've done tours in Germany with Justin Timberlake twice and I loved Germany. So again my friend Thank you! Best to you and your music and company.

distribution is the easy part, what I can't figure out is how to get radio play and sync placements. People tell me I need to give up my rights over to a publisher, but the only publishers I know would only accept my tracks taking the exclusive rights. I am only willing to hand my tracks to publishers for non exclusive rights.

Maybe you didn't want to influence people's opinion on which digital distributor to choose but as a german resident it is interesting to me which one you finally picked. Keep up the good work! cheers

does your label have a store front? concsidering starting a label but wondering if i need a store. I am not an artist and plan to release other artists.
@jaysalamone25314 жыл бұрын
Im an unknown producer. Is it better to come out with my own label then releasing stuff on other smaller labels. ? I released a track in 2014 it was on beatport and everything. I dodnt get any money and it was like noone even knew it existed. I figure if might as well promote myself. What do u think?
@timoheinrich8763 Жыл бұрын
Okay, I came here because I thought that I need to be a label in order to distribute myself to Spotify etc. If that's not the case why even bother and be your own label instead of just using Distrokid without any label at all? Would be grateful if I'd get an answer to that :)

you said in this video 2 years ago that spotify would never allow individual artist to post music themselves. oh how the time has changed
@cleopatrajames79545 жыл бұрын
Its still the same. Nothing has changed. Artists can not directly post music themselves. They still have to use a distributor like distrokid, tunecore ..etc. So what has change???
