How to Start Your Rainbow River Tubing Adventure | Rainbow Springs, FL

Tubing on Rainbow River, from Rainbow Springs State Park was one of the most relaxing experiences we had in Florida. Florida has tons of natural lazy rivers and springs for tubing, with the Rainbow River being the more popular one. Tubing down the Rainbow River is such a refreshing and relaxing experience. With the current being slow and smooth, it gives us tons of time to enjoy the crystal clear, teal water and the wonderful nature and wildlife in the water and on the shore.

Is there alligators? Also is it necessary to know how to swim or would a life jacket be sufficient?

As with any body of water in Florida, there's probably a gator. That being said, they don't usually want to mess with people. If you spot one give it some space. If you aren't a strong swimmer I would recommend a life jacket. They supply them :)

Did you all go on a weekday? How busy was the main springs area after your tube? I'm worried if we start our morning here that the main park would be too busy later on after the tube ride. I know they close the entrance once at capacity. We're looking to go on a Saturday

Hey, we went on a weekday and it wasn't that busy. Both places will be busy on weekends. So depending on what you want to do more, tubing or the main spring, I would prioritize that one.
