International schools are a great option if you are a certified teacher as you can make a western salary while in Thailand. I’m moving to Bangkok in as a math teacher in August. Can’t wait!

How did your move as teacher in Bangkok go? Was it what you expected? I am certified teacher in America. Do international schools have an age limit? Hope you are loving it in Thailand.
@leelafond Жыл бұрын
So far so good! Work is work, but I'm loving life in Bangkok. Definitely glad I made the move for sure. I think the maximum age for work permits is 60. @@writeronthestormkyushu565

I saw a video about the Digital Nomad Visa from an employee from the Thai Visa Agency, she said eventhough you get a 10 year Visa, they do a follow-up after 5 years to see if you still meet the requirements, the same goes for the Elite Visa
@TNKeith2 жыл бұрын
Retirement visa probably my best option. Turn 50 in couple months and looking to start full time digital nomad life.
@TheRealMafoo2 жыл бұрын
Just an FYI: For retirement, you need to show 80K in fixed income, like a pension or Social Security. If you earn it, it doesn't count, sadly.
@i_kill_for_zardoz2 жыл бұрын
@@TheRealMafoo Go see a visa agent in Thailand.. there are ways around those official requirements, but obviously youtubers are hesitant to speak about it.
@OrthodoxDAO2 жыл бұрын
@@TheRealMafoo that doesn't sound right, what kind of pensioner has 80K fixed income, Obama? Or was that 80K baht? Even that is more than 2K USD, so US social security is excluded. The video said 25K USD of bank deposited wealth, not income. Sounds a bit low but more reasonable than the alternatives!
@TNKeith Жыл бұрын
@Spooky Black I'm debating it. For my one year stay in thailand it's a waste of resources

With that backdrop Brett, It has me ready for story time. Lol… I still think that for a lot of people, it is just easier to max out your stays in Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. And just keep rotating through those countries during the year. Seems easier than messing with all the visa stuff.
@brett_dev2 жыл бұрын
Yeah a lot of people do that. Get to experience multiple countries too.
@ayebo15 Жыл бұрын
@My MidLife Adventures @Brett Dev thinking about getting a 180 days multiple entry visa (where you have to leave every 60 days), re-entering on the last few days so i can get another 60 days, then extend by another 30 days, which makes it 180+60+30 days (9 month) then i need to be out of Thailand for 3 month. then rinse & repeat. will this be working?
@rstravelshop2 жыл бұрын
Hi Brett, interesting. And how you managed to stay there over 3 years working as Digital Nomad ?

Volunteer visa not being recognised as often by Thai authorities now. ED visas applied for within Thailand require an additional conversion fee. METV is still a thing.

Multi entry Visa? 60 days + 30 day extension, border run, 60 days + 30 day extension, border run, then apply for a single entry visa before your multi entry visa expires, get another 60 days + 30 day extension = 270 days in Thailand.

Just drop in get 45 days on arrival, 45 days renewal .. border run rince and repeat

Depending on passport. But you can just stay in Malaysia for 90 days at a time. Also a great place to hangout as a digital nomad.

Have to laugh at those complaining that Thailand won’t gift them an easy pathway to live in their country. Thailand is obviously trying to discourage the ugly stereotypes you see walking around holding hands with much younger (and desperate) local women. And economically, a handful of genuine remote workers are worth so much more than hundreds of those types. I can’t blame them.
@ayebo15 Жыл бұрын
@Dave B no they are not, because the Retirement Visa is the easiest to get & you have to be 50 or older to get it! i am younger then 50 and work remote, i would love to get the Retirement Visa!
