Thanks for being truthful about the situation here. Not many Vloggers talk about the smoke in depth. A lot of it comes down to; it's much easier/cheaper to pull out a lighter and set fire than it is to remove crop stubble, leaves, trash ETC. EVERY year from the central to the local government, they start programs announcing how to prevent burning, how large the fines will be, alternatives, ETC and every year it's the same.

That Intro was pure greatness 😂 Seriously though, thanks for sharing this video. It’s an important thing to spread awareness on, not just for tourists but primarily the air quality for the locals. We visited Northern Thailand the last two years in February and March and it was rough. Sore throat and sinus issues after only 4 days. Definitely need a good n95 mask 😷 during the Smokey season 💨

@@PaddyDoyle. FYI, there is no need to burn in order to grow the mushrooms. They grow naturally. It is just easier to SEE them on the blackened ground when they grow. It's cheating, and works fine in areas like Northwestern America which is wet most of the time. But not good in a place like CM.

We do not live in Wonderland on this Earth, so while it's good to find the positive and fun aspects in everything, it 's also good to have videos that show those aspects too. Check out the air purifiers for sale on lazada, they cost 600baht, very good. Measured with PM2.5 meters. Don't get the fancy display, just the 6 buttons one. Great video. I challenge you to do something about this with me next year after your trip through Thailand. You are a teacher and you can convey a message very well to people. The fact that many people are responding to the music you have made means that you have potential gold in your hands. Make it a full lyrics in English and Thai. And make a video clip of the song. You can create awareness and earn money with it. I hope you want to think about it. I am also looking forward to your trip through Thailand because you have become one of my most favorite KZbinrs in a short time. Stay safe and stay healthy. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱

The song was created within one evening in a hotel room toilet 😂

Ive been in Nakon Sawan province for 15 yrs...we're due an influx of Thais from Issan from the North East of Thailand ( bit like fruit pickers back home in UK )...to cut and burn the sugar cane fields..but last couple of years i have noticed they are starting to be replaced by mechanical sugar cane cutters...because the sugar cane leaves are quite sharp..they set fire to the sugar cane fields..to get rid of the sharpness of the leaves and surplus overgrowth and snakes before they can cut the cane..and then they burn any surplus ready to cultivate the next crop..but with the mechanical cutters there is no need to burn before cutting...but by doing it this way its taking the livihood away from the many Issan that rely on this method to make ends meet...its the same as back home...no more corner shops..they been takin over by 7-11 and such....sad but true...😉

I like Blueair myself as it moves a lot of air through filter. An efficient filter that doesn’t move the air is as good as not having one. Alternatively, you can use standard cheap square fan and tape hepa filter to the intake side. That’s going to be as good as any filter and they’re super cheap to make.

Do you think the haze will ruin this trip and I should cancel/reschedule? At that time of the year, is it too bad being in nature? breathing-wise but also overall enjoying our vacation-wise. Or does it get bad March onwards? It would be heart breaking getting there all the way from Greece and just trying to avoid the smoke throughout our trip.
