4 years later I'm still learning Japanese daily :D It's so easy to stay motivated when there's a ton of fun animes to watch with Japanese subtitles. I also play Playstation games in Japanese/Chinese so that's a nice and beneficial activity for language learning that I can recommend (but it's much better if you are already intermediate level in the language)

So how awesome is Ghost of Tsushima? I’m in act 3 right now, have the original Japanese dialogue with English captions, and it is so damn good. Dubs suck lol

I studied Chinese for 2 years in school. I'd read stories about Chinese New Year and the Dragon Boat Festival and go "Hm, this is mildly interesting I suppose." Then I started studying Japanese and within 2-3 months I surpassed my Chinese level because I never had to hunt down interesting materials. If I found an anime boring, there were plenty of others to choose from. If a game was too difficult to read, I could find an easier one. There are SO MANY genuinely entertaining Japanese materials that I can't imagine studying any other language.

sometimes i end up frustrated in my english learning process, but the idea is to do stuff joyful that can help you to keep practicing and using the language! The moods or feelings plays an important role in this journey, because sometimes you can feel you very motivated and excited to study and practice, but on the other hand, there are also a lot of days in which you can feel you frustrated or you wanna give up! So, we need to be aware and trying to practice everyday, no matter if you don't want! Because if you don't study one day, and then the next day neither, it could be a problem!

Sometimes a dull monotonous job can become enjoyable by experiencing looking forward to engaging in the social dynamics of the work environment. If a positive emotional connection can be made with learning a language such as friends or fun activities engaged in the target language then this may make it a whole lot more interesting to persist in becoming fluent.

Hello I have a question for people who learned language while living in the country when target language was spoken. I have been learning English for a while but I didn't have chances to use spoken English. Currently I'm going to go to Germany (my level is A1). I'm wondering whether learning will be a way easier and faster because of environment of German native speakers.

Steve,how would you go about this? I have a very limited vocab in german (I'm A2 or something),when I try to read interesting stuff,I don't understand 40-50 % of the text. So I can't read interesting stuff. On the other hand I can try to read something for my level,but god these little stories or nachrichten in leichter sprache,man it kills me,it's boring. I've tried hard,3 hours of reading a day for several weeks,but in the end I want to vomit because it's super boring and quite frustrating because I still can't read or listen to interesting stuff. It seems to me,there's a big gap between beginner reading and real language reading, you can't find something in between

I am in the same position just keep going you will make it 💪
@НикитаМинажетдинов3 жыл бұрын
@@Tops-xt2bw Yeah, sometimes it's not about you, but rather it just has to take some time. I've also added a new thing. I have a list with 15-20 vocabulary topics and I learn 5 words additionally every day. And since there are just 5 words, it's pretty easy to memorize them. So I get about 6-7 from just listening and reading, and I get 3-5 from vocabulary lists.

Because English makes no damn sense, that’s why! It’s not you. Someone smarter than me once said that English is three languages wearing a trench coat pretending to be one language. I feel lucky that it’s my native tongue! Here’s my favorite example: if you take the “gh” sound from “enough”, the “o” sound from “women”, and the “ti” from “nation”, then “ghoti” should spell “fish”. Just keep at it, my friend!
