So you have a goal zero. Instead of diesel since you don’t camp for long periods why not just get a small electric heater that plugs into the goal zero. That way no chance of carbon and you only use it for a certain time anyway

I agree that reflectors are very important to staying warm against naturally cold areas, Mylar blankets taped up around a regular tent with a heater will create a lot!!! of added comfort and only cost very little.

If you can keep an air gap from the window to the reflectix will greatly increase R value. I put my velcro on the aluminum frame around the window. This gives you at least a 1/4" air gap

Hi Mav, Y.T. suggested your channel, I really like your content. I spent my 20's camping out of my truck like you are doing. I live in S. WI. so I spent a lot of time in N. MN. You have a nice setup there! After years of R.Vs I'm now camping out of my SUV and may well go back to a truck. I'm looking forward to checking out more of your channel.

I like that big hole because it makes more fresh air available to you. An auxiliary battery on a separator switch same as in marine use is the only way to not jeopardize your engine battery. Set on both, the alternator will keep everything charged, set it to aux. for overnight needs. The alt. will bring it all back up when you drive. A real light, loose onsie is all I wear in a bag or nothing. You're right about that. I always use two detectors for monoxide just in case. Good video. Peace.

Hey Maverick. I have a potential life saver for you. My job requires me to be confined space and hazmat licensed. The greatest byproduct your Ford produces is CO2 not carbon monoxide. Your propane heater has an oxygen sensor because of oxygen displacement caused by CO2 which is a byproduct of propane as well. Invest in an O2 meter. I've watched guys pass out from low PPM O2 fairly quick down in the manholes when they got propane heat and low air circulation.

Hey you want to keep warm in your truck without worrying about CO2; then you can also sleep on the *REFLECTORS* &will keep you warm. Second suggestion is best hand warmer up to 8 hours. Third wool blend fleece blanket, this blanket is sold by korea. can buy it at Amazon. Electric blanket to your invertor/generator. Last resort is BUDDY heater.

4:50 it's a thermal barrier, also known as a radiant barrier. the tech comes from NASA (space blanket). people use them to insulate their attics and garage doors. those things are designed to reflect 95% thermal energy (heat). they can trap heat (reduce heat loss) in a contain space and reflect heat from a contained space.

Sleeping with tomorrows clothes down by your feet in the sleeping bag makes for a comfortable morning and an extra bed spread hanging from the ceiling centre line gives an extra layer of insulation and absorbtion inside the cap. Also maybe line the floor and bed sides with emergency blanket material under carpet for more reflective heat.

Hey Mav! Take a look at the chinese diesel heaters! Just picked one up a few weeks ago that will be going into my Rooftop tent when it arrives. Been using it now for a couple weeks down to 22 degrees and on the lowest setting keeping my tent at 65 with windows cracked lol. If I put it on high I could probably make a sauna out of my tent ;) Thought you might check it out to keep warm. Dry, safe heat, no carbon monoxide, no flame inside the vehicle to worry about. better yet NO CONDENSATION! woot!! lol. Take care, love your videos!

My cap only has a window in the front, a slider window) and the rear door has glass which I’m thinking of replacing it with fibreglass. You really should learn how to fibreglass, it’s easy as hell, then fibreglass mounts on the cap so you can install custom shelves and cupboards.
