hahaha, read up about basketball pal. It's not a game you can juts pick up and play like fifa, that said, it is a ton of fun because there are a lot of moving parts going on, so once you start to learn the fundamentals, you may be surprised at how much you enjoy it! (P.s, the point guard is the player who traditionally carries the ball up the court, the playmaker and the smallest sized player on the team, (Steve Nash etc))

I'll have to disagree respectfully bro! I don't disagree that their are plenty of moving parts in FIFA, but if you were to know nothing about either sport, I feel that picking up and playing FIFA for the first time would be a much smoother experience. It's fundamentally a more simple sport. The offside rule is just about the only confusion most find with it!

I downloaded the game yesterday and as all of you, I made more fouls than points and fortunately I found out this video. My only question would be...almost at the end of the video, you have to steal the ball face to face literally. The thing is, when I see that green light (pointing out the arrows of the two players in the same direction), then the green light appears and I press Square to steal the ball? Maybe it's an obvious question, but I'd like you answer it. Thanks for your video, this really helped me a lot.

Glad the video helped man! With regards to stealing th ball literally out of your opponents hands when he's dribbling...you may have to look elsewhere for guidance. i've been making stealing in 2K tutorials since 2013, and this year haven't found anyway to consistently steal the ball from a players hands. There doesn't seem to be anything that give you a higher % chance of causing a steal. It's just a numbers game (your steal rating vs the opponents ball handling rating). Th reason i highlight the methods of stealing in this video, is because they are methods that let you exploits fundamental flaws in the game. I couldn't find any flaw with the simple way of stealing, as you suggest, that was worth mentioning!

what are your defensive settings? I feel like 2k is just a game where the winner is the one with better settings. Anyhow, the reason I ask is because in My Team, the shooting guard WILL NOT PASS to the PG unless he's wide open and there's no chance for me to get to the ball like you. If I'm as close to the PG as you are in very clip, the PG doesn't get the pass. This forces me to stay hovering around the PG while the CPU SG does amazing things on that CPU defender..... ultimately this game is just pure crap and I need to stop playing it.

+Александр Лазарев yep! Just pressing the steal button bro. It takes time! Just keep practicing and you'll start to learn when to anticipate the pass and how much of a lane you need to leave for the AI to think the passing lane is safe. It's JUST like real life, honestly.

That's just the way the game works unfortunately, you have to complete those training drills in order to unlock new attribute points to spend. Way of preventing the game being pay to win, which i whole heartedly support.

Online is hell unfortunately. Whenever I play there is always a tiny bit of input lag, I stopped trying online a few months ago, was just too frustrating! My advice would be to only attempt lay ups and dunks!

+My Balloon Guy Yeah you have to actually press the steal button to intercept the ball in the passing lane. Keep at it man, I promise you its something you get better at the more you try to do it. I do use the right analogue stick to wave my players hands around all the time, but it rarely culminates with a steal. I never found a consistent way of using the analogue stick in honesty.

well by the way it sounds I bet your character is a very low level and has not so great stats, which would make your dude slow and terrible at just about everything. If you just play the game for a while normally without trying to steal the ball every play you'll get him to a higher level and then these techniques will work perfectly. Oh and no offense to you for your character being terrible, 2k makes everyone terrible at first to make you want to buy vc :-(

Circle? I said square bro! If you just spam the steal button and try to knock it out of their hands, you'll get called for a lot of fouls. I never say in this video that thats a good idea, instead try to steal the ball from passing lanes. No risk of being called for fouls in that case.

And if your player is a PG, he always has an arrow on the floor below him, pointing towards the player you should be marking = the opposition pG.

Sure, but that just random chance and maths that come into play. This video (and all my tutorials for that matter) try to stay away from telling you tips that have a random chance of happening. Instead, exploit the way the game is set up and take advantage of those flaws. There's no successful way I found (in 2k16 at least) to consistently steal the ball from the hands of player. There used to be in 2k13 and 14 but not anymore. Also, please don't swear!

i try this is my career and will always get called for reach in , the one you said was the the easiest. I try running into the ball but it dont work that easy and when i reach ill sometimes steal it but not as frequent as it sounds ;/

Ok so here's what you need to do. DO NOT run into the ball or the player, instead you need to let the opposition PG run into you. The frames where the contact occurs, you don't want to even be pressing anything on your controller. That's why i find it easy to usher the PG out on that diagonal line to the side of the court, since i can then juts stand a few feet in from the sideline, and wait for them to spin into me. The collision and subsequent dropping of the ball only happens when you aren'tt moving. You need to learn to anticipate when they spin in, and just be stood already waiting for them. Having quick lateral defence stats helps massively for that!

Yeah so you need to press the steal button to physically intercept the ball. You time that button press much like you would in a real life situation. Press the steal button as the ball is being passed to make your my player flail his arms around and you should pick off the pass!

Haha no offence here mate! Basketball has gotten really big out here. The NBA always has a few games that get played out in London (Orlando vs Toronto just happened). +KarokeSingersNo1 You should be able to intercept the ball via the second method with some success, plus, if you mark the opposition PG, it'll leave your SG open, meaning they'll always look to pass immediately to the SG. So if you can position your player between the opposition PG and SG whilst putting pressure on the ball carrier, you should be able to geta similar opportunity.

Whenever you attemp to step in front of a pass and steal the ball, do you have to press the steal Button or do you just step in front of the pass and it steals it automatically ?

+Basketball 33 Yeah you have to press the steal button, thats more of what the timing is about. Pressing the steal button initiates the animation of your player sort of "jumping in" to the lane himself as long as you're within range.

it does work! but everytime the opponent lose the ball, 2k logic will allow them to just pick up the ball in an instant, but if done perfectly, it can be another easy way to score, defense to offense.

do you know what "mark" means? Just follow them kind of thing, make sure your body is between the ball and the man youre "marking" so to speak.
