You named this a "How To". But you never really described, explained, or demonstrated any how to do anything. You didn't show getting them in target mode. You didn't explain taking out any of the subsystems, or when to stop. You completely glossed over the part that is what you titled the video. Very disappointing. Just sayin'

Players new and old keep forgetting that there is a way easier way to steal ships. Todd howard said back before starfield came out that players can come across ships in space and that you can hail them over the radio and trade with the ships in space. He never said you couldn't kill and steal their ship after trading with them once your on their ship.

quick tip! you can register the ship as home ship and then register in your fleet as soon as you sit down in the ship menu!!!

@@blazindragon296 no the fee is still there but say you dont want to use the new ship right away you can reboard your old ship and set it back as home ship, i found that just sitting in the pilot seat of the hijacked ship will not add it to your fleet but making the ship a home ship will add to fleet.

Register your ship in your personal terminal, it's a few thousand credits cheaper and you'll profit more when you sell it.

To steal higher tier ships like B or C grade will need piloting skill rank 3 or 4, 2nd you may have got 2k for ship, but you get materials from 2 destroyed ships also weapons, cargo, captain locker and chance of contraband goods loose on tables in ship. Love the videos.

There is another way to "acquire" ships to sell. While you're exploring planets and scanning for bases to take down and loot sometimes a random ship will land in the distance, you'll hear it's engines. Scan for it, go to it and help it's occupants "see the light". Take the pilot seat and you're good to go. If you plan on flying your new ship around search it from top to bottom first because there might be a few random pieces of contraband as pick up loot (not in the cargo bay) and getting busted for having contraband that you didn't know was on your ship isn't a very fun thing.

You may have covered this man, but a combat maneuver that many Elite Dangerous players will know. (FA OFF) flight assist off (Combat flipping) -Boost then.. -While holding RB or spacebar. -flip a 180 …that forward boost now becomes reverse boost. Once in motion, always in motion rules. Allowing you to do damage to whatever is behind you as you dog fight. Or just run circles around them. It’s kinda ridiculous honestly. As soon as you release the Thruster button, newtonian flight will disable quickly allowing you you have complete control of the ship. Newtonian flight is definitely hard to master. But extremely effective. If you pay attention to the targets front (indicator is red arrow). You can just do circles around them. A mix of newtonian flight and normal, your focus should be keep the nose on target at all times. Easy to do while holding RB/Spacebar Newtonian flight is actually super OP, while I’ve been using a controller it’s been super easy to do. Keeps guns on target at all times, im never in there crosshairs. Hope this helps anyone, takes practice. But a combo of boosts, up sideways down or whatever in thruster mode will allow you to stay away from the targets front. Giving you advantage over the toughest of enemies.

Seems like the better your speech skill is, the better prices you can sell for. Might be worth considering a charismatic pirate for this game.

If you're going to go this path, it is better if you spend points in commerce skill. But yes, like all Bethesda games, the better you speech, the better prices you will also get.

I was on a random planet and came upon a base and there was a ship just sitting there I hacked into it and flew off with it. took it back to new alantis had to register it for 10,000 but when I went to sell it, it was only worth 8,000. I lost money. kind of doesn't seem worth it.

They’re still useful. I used all my stolen ships as a template for different custom ships and built them up. I got a ship thats meant specifically for large cargo, one for a passenger ship, a battle cruiser that’s fast and decked out with weapons, one for exploration and long grav jumping, and one good all around ship as my main. It would be nice though if they let you pick them apart and put the pieces on ships you already own. Im sure the modders will fix that.

🤔is it possible to steal the rail ship and vanguard ships? I been finding a few "landing ships" on planets and half say inaccessable and the other half i can walk in talk to the pilot thats repairing the seat but still can't steal (yes i saved and killed him still says i can't fly). Is there a perk i'm missing?

defiantly needs to be a rebalance of alot of the side hustles you can do. like ship stealing. 2k profit for all that risk is a immediate turn off for me. fun activity, but not worth the creds, heres hoping devs do a a rebalance fix. but i think the modders are gonna fix this one for us. still love the game tho, nice change of pace from NMS and star citizen. did one playthrough already and the story is incredible. now am just taking my time on my 2nd play through enjoying the little bits.

I was hoping if someone were to show me repairing it would make a huge difference in pricing, unfortunately it did not. Best to just take the ship as is and take the on average 1.5 to 2k profit. I guess *if* you're the type of player that could quickly disable and have a huge retinue of ships, maybe you could make a both quick fleet and tidy sum.

Once you go into target mode - select the engines then you have to aim at the engines, not just fire randomly. Target mode only puts reticules around the area you are to target, it does not aim your weapons.

Disable shields then use missiles to disable engines, I find the cannons to be unreliable

Commerce skill perk level it up. Higher the level more money you get. Atm im level 2 registered the ship for 9 k sold it for 12.5 something. Not to mention all the loot and contraband. I made a good 10k profit 😎

@@tabishbaig7327 But the point being if you did not get a good contraband pull, after you spent more skill points having to up your commerce skills, instead of 2,000 credits difference, you got 3.5 credits difference. As I mentioned in another reply, i realized this is so you don't break the bank by sticking a point in weapons control systems and just stealing a bunch of ships. It still seems petty how little you get for all the work.

I don't know what you mean when you say "the cargo will sum or just the home ship cargo will matter all the time." What I will say technically is if you take a ship intact you usually (and I stress the word usually) get more components or materials or found items including what you can loot in the captain's safe than the remnants if you pick through a destroyed ship. (Obviously you don't get ship components if you don't destroy a ship, but that's another discussion.) But yes, if you wanted to just simply quickly destroy the engines of multiple ships and hopefully try looting the ones that you were able to do in a fight. I'm sure you could quickly harvest a fleet. Whether or not it's the fleet you want depends on if you understand the type of ships that you are looking for. If one were to just abandon a ship after taking the components, that certainly sounds like it's a viable option.

I realize Bethesda did this so it wouldn't be game bank breaking. So you just spend a point target the engines and have a huge fleet you could sell for hundreds of thousands but 2000 credits or less on average for a ship will you have to go and murder a bunch of people and risk your life... just not worth it
