How to Stencil a Tennis Racquet

Thanks for this great video. It is really helpful. Just curious, is this the same process used by the manufacturers when the racquets come from factory? Maybe it’s just the video and the lighting, but the logo seems a little less vibrant than when I see the logos on stock racquet strings online. Is it pretty sharp in real life?

To make your stencil last longer on ur strings do u think you could apply clear nail varnish over the top, to lock the stencil ink onto the strings and prevent it from wearing off as much? Would this affect performance of the strings or not? For reference I have a Babolat Pure Strike so it’s not as if my stencil is near the sweet spot or middle of the racket

From your experience, would it be better to use the stenciling ink or maybe even use car spray paint to paint the strings? I don't want it to fade after the first game.

How can I remove the excess ink ? Spots of ink on the frame. What should I do to remove them.

for some reason my ink bottle doesn't spread the ink evenly and it comes out in bursts. also it dries up and the cap is hard to open. do u think im doing it wrong or was it the bottle itself (it was cheap for like $$

Hmm I doubt that you are doing the process wrong, considering the problems you're having. It could be that the ink is old and no longer able to flow easily. Was it stored in a dry temperature controlled place with the cap on? Try to shake the bottle well before attempting to use again; also see if there are any dry bits of ink blocking the felt tip. If you did get it brand new with these issues I would message back the seller to see if a deal can be worked out for either a new bottle or just a return for the defective product. Avoid trying to thin the paint down yourself so it can flow easily, acetone and other common thinners can dissolve certain plastics that are used for strings out on the market. My recommendation for ink would be Gamma and Yonex (Made in the same factory), or Tourna. Babolat makes some good travel pen versions but I personally feel like they don't spread as easily when applying. Hopefully this helps!

Enjoyed the video . I am using bring green poly strings. What color would you recommend ? A red or black ?

Both of those color choices should show up on the racquet clearly. I personally prefer a black stencil most the time but choose which one you think is better.
