Thanks! Most videos are about stenciling to make a faux textured wall. This is what I needed, how to stencil on a wall that is already textured.

Repositioning the stencil over the previously stenciled section doesn't mess up the paint?
@SarahVanderkooy Жыл бұрын
I use very little paint when stenciling so it doesn't mess it up. Be sure to place the stencil once and don't move it around and you'll be just fine.
@creativegirl9710Ай бұрын
The little bit of paint drys so fast, so you really can keep moving.

Thank you for this very helpful video. I've never stenciled before and your video is great. What type of temporary spray adhesive do you recommend? Thanks!

Look for a stencil adhesive like this one www.joann.com/spraynbond-pattern-and-stencil-adhesive/17346339.html

im going to try to make my stencil using my cricut. what are your thoughts on using a vinyl stencil that will stick without using the spray adhesive?

Love your wall! I was stenciling a tone on tone and am disappointed --- stencils really doesn't show at all with the glossy. I would love to try the metallic paint you use. Can you share your thoughts on color? My walls are flat beige (caramel/latte color). Do you think the oyster metallic would work? Concerned pearl white may be too bright. Thanks in advance!
@SarahVanderkooy4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mary, I am really happy with the metallic paint. It it bright. I tried it first in a corner with white as the base and metallic over it. I waited a day to see how it looked in the sun and at night. Then went and did the whole wall. The oyster sounds like it would work on your walls, try it first to make sure it's right for you. Good luck!

I'm trying to understand. Why find the center of the wall if you're starting with your stencil on the edge?
@SarahVanderkooy4 жыл бұрын
I found the center then moved outward to the edge of the wall, it helped me know what the stencil would look like on the wall. Some designs look better centered, this particular one didn't seem to be an issue and fit all the way across my wall.

She basically changed her mind. Always find a straight edge, whether horizontal or vertical. Then use a laser light to get really precise.
