You truly have no idea how thrilled I am to have found this video! I have tried COUNTLESS times to stencil and it always came out looking horrid! Always bled. I googled and researched and tried everything I could to get it to work but I finally just gave up. Thank you sincerely from the bottom of my heart! I had never seen a hack like this for stenciling! And you won’t believe this but I too, am painting my grandmothers dresser and wanted to do something with the drawers. She always made most of my dresses when I was growing up. Funny you mentioned that in your video about your own grandmother and lace:) My granny was very creative and good at everything! I miss her and have been worried to death about messing up this dresser of hers. Your videos have helped me lots today! Thanks a bunch!

Just FYI, it would be great if you spoke during your video what you were using, so we don’t have to spend twice as long trying to weed through your posts. Don’t get me wrong, I love your work, but your post is very confusing and very long. Plus, I still was not able to find what I was looking for.

By the way, what instruments are best (I use sponges but it tends to bleed more) and should I let the paint dry before removing the stencils?
@RenovatedFaith4 жыл бұрын
Great questions! I like to use those spouncers - little sponges with a handle. And I use just vertical movements to avoid bleedthrough. And I let the mod podge dry about an hour to be on the safe side but you don't have to.
@larasmith26162 жыл бұрын
I like using the cheap triangle makeup sponges when doing stencils! They work really great! And if you don't already have a stenciling brush or sponges, you can pick a pack up pretty much anywhere for real cheap! I use the larger side of the sponge with a little bit of paint, and just tap it on the stencil. A little bit of paint with those goes a long way too!

Good question. It helps to get in the crack between the surface and the stencil so that paint cannot seep through. If the modge podge seeps through, it's fine because it's clear. I hope this helps. Thanks Michelle!
