Can you provide product for drying both sides of cabinets simultaneously? I can't find it in the blog

Standard practice is to degrease the surface before sanding, especially the kitchen cabinets, which are full of gummy stuff.

Am I missing something? Your video here is completely vague, and only seems to link you to your other information site. I did not learn how I can paint my door knobs “ to outlive the house” . Please re-make your video, and include the information for your claim.

2 years later I am curious if you ever wish you would not of painted the vanity & stained instead? I have tried to read your blog posts on your site on your paint reviews and had no success due to so many advertisements overtaking. Is there a video ? Thanks 😊

@@RenovatedFaith I would love to see a review of Debis DIY paint 😊 Your vanity turned out beautiful. I cant decide if I'm going to paint or maybe do a paint wash on an antique tall dresser. I'm also considering using a Iron Orchid Designs paint inlay.

I really want to do this! I'm just curious why you spay it with the krud cutter before sanding? Seems like the sanding would come first, no?
@RenovatedFaith
@RenovatedFaith 2 ай бұрын
That is such a great question, Stephanie and I wondered the exact same. The reason why I use the Krud Kutter is because it will remove any oil based greasy residue that sanding doesn’t always remove. If there is an oily residue and you go to sand it, it’s just going to gunk up your sanding pad and also the spray paint won’t stick as well. If you don’t think there is any oil based dirt or residue, go ahead and send before cleaning the piece.

I do this every day with custom built solid steel doors. It makes easier work to thin the oil based gel stain just a little with paint thinner. We do it over a base coat of powder coating and then a baked on clear coat. You did a great job. It seems to work better with cheap brushes

Hi Johnny, I am looking at doing this for my personal garage door. We purchased the home with an existing white metal garage door. Seems to have an enamel or hardened finish. Would I just lightly sand what's there, and then apply the thinned oil-based get stain or would I need to apply an adhesion primer, and then paint a base coat + the thinned oil-based gel stain? I wouldn't be able to bake on a clear coat, but what options would make sense, since I'd have to apply it on the installed door? Thanks!

@@user-cr4kp3jd2b how I did my garage doors is I washed it door, got a can of liquid sandpaper, wiped the door to remove the gloss. Then I went and got a can of kilz original oil based primer, had them tint it to a tan color. Applied the primer, allowed it to dry overnight. Then I applied my oil based thinned gel varnish and allow it to dry. Finally,I applied two coat of satin finish oil based varnish. Scuff the first coat with 000 steel wool and apply second coat....it has last 9 years so far. All my neighbors could not believe it was not a wood garage door.

4:13-6:43 Were the samples ever presented? I don't understand why someone wouldn't present the actually paint samples, of each of the tested products As in, instead of 2 minutes spent looking at cans on a table, why not spend 5-10 minutes presenting each sample, and explain the experiences with each? Such as, "Here are the top 3 performing samples, Advance, Milesi, And Behr Cabinet/Enamel. Here you can see how each responded to staining and cleaning. Here is the coverage and finish compared to one another"

I did not think about the poster thing!! I put Agreeable Grey on half of my wall in my bedroom and parts of the walls throughout my home to see how it looked in every light. I could not understand why it just looked like plain grey everywhere it was so frustrating!! I ended up taping white printer paper all over my walls to block my original color and now I can actually see what it's supposed to look like and I am now moving forward with it!! Thank you so much for this tip!!!!

In my honest opinion General Finishes Milk Paint is The Best of the best.. I have used it on many projects, Kitchen Cabinets, a Buffet Credenza,and I just finished painting all of the windows and moldings in my 4 season sunroom.. The finish is Flawless and I love the sheen of it after it dries. 🚩Just note that if you use a Topcoat on a white color ,it may yellow over time. This is the paint that they use on furniture when you go into an unfinished furniture store where you can order a piece and pick your own color…❤
