Melannie, tip # 5 ... What boundaries are you talking about ? Practical stuff you should not do for her , romantic boundaries ... I still can't stop thinking of this guy I saw while relaxing on a floating device in the middle of a lake. He went back to the shore to get a pack of cigarettes , swam back (clamping it with his teeth ) so a good looking girl could smoke one . A little too débonnaire if you ask me . Is that a boundary you were talking about ? ( that he crossed )

Yeah, but Charlie Brown has confidence issues among many other issues, like trust issues. Any Psychologists will say that Mr. Brown is no way in any mental shape for a relationship... at all. Charlie Brown is one seriously depressed kid and in serious need of professional help and Lucy( a central problem figure of his, mind you) is not helping him at all.

Hey, Melannie! I've recently discovered this channel after searching for advice on relationships all over KZbin. I don't think it was by accident that I stumbled upon your page, as I'm 23 and still very single. My goal is to have a healthy, godly relationship someday leading to marriage. I've definitely had my fair share of struggles on this topic. For a while it had been a sore spot for me after dealing with lots of hurtful friendships with girls and being used a few times. I've never really had much confidence at all in this topic up until recently. As I continue to root myself in Jesus I have actually noticed myself becoming more and more confident. I've gotten the courage to ask two people out on a date recently (both said no), and I just feel like I'm starting to get better prepared for my future relationship. However, I know that there are still things I am unsure about. I do tent to sometimes mistake niceness of someone liking me, and so on. I was wondering, what advice would you give me as someone who has never ever dated before in his life? How do I be sure that I find the right person who is perfect?

@crazyralph3585
@crazyralph3585 Жыл бұрын
I agree with what you are saying, the good men are acting wisely. BUT THERE IS MORE TO THE STORY. This woman ( and many other so-called relationship experts) take advantage of the fact that most men feel unloved and unappreciated by women, and they place all of the burden on men. What she, and so many others like her preach is misandry disguised as relationship therapy. Ever notice that neither she, nor most female relationship experts, encourage women to take more initiatives; to be more secure in themselves; to be more affectionate, kind, loving, and caring; to be responsible for their own actions; to treat men the same way that they want to be treated in return; and not to place demands or expectations on men that they don't want to be placed on them. Hearing a female give advice on how to be more attractive to women, how to make female friends, and how to relate to women is like having a cat listen to a mouse on how to be a good mouse-catcher. And hearing females ask "Where are all the good men?" is like a fish asking "Where are ll the good fishermen?" Whether a man (after hearing the advice of a female) follows the "nice boy" pattern or the "bad boy" pattern, he is still being groomed, manipulated, and controlled by females; and he is not truly free to be himself. What this woman fails to mention is that females are attracted to men of status, wealth, and power, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER HE IS A GOOD BOY OR BAD BOY. If a poor man acts like a "bad boy", he gets labeled as a JERK. If a poor man acts kind, loving, and caring, he gets rejected for being TOO NICE. If a poor man blatantly rejects both the "nice boy" and the "bad boy" model; but instead chooses to be his own person (as I have done), he gets labeled as a REBEL or a RENEGADE, and people call him CRAZY (this is part of the reason why I got my nickname "Crazy Ralph"). When you hear a female say to men "Be yourself" and "Be confident in who you are", what she is not saying is "...but make sure to be the kind of person who fits my image of what a real man should be like"... "And be a person of status, wealth, and power". If women were truly honest, this is what they would say. After all, it is easy for a man of status wealth, and power to be himself, and be confident in whom he is. Hear me out! In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with you, or most other men, whether "nice boy" or "bad boy", THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE JUDGEMENTAL, CRITICAL ATTITUDE OF MANY FEMALES. Word to the wise.

i believe birds of same feathers fly together. i mean women are attracted based on the upbringing or the idea she perceived as attractive based on the environment she grew up with. if you came from nice family you are attracted to nice people and vice versa. if you are the opposite of what they want, no matter what technique you have, you are in the friendzone or totally rejected. or it depends on what the woman needs if she wants to be protected, she wants a strong man. so no matter how good you are on other areas, you are not the strong man she wants, you are friendzone or rejected. that's up to men to know what group the girl belongs.

Basically dont stop being nice or kind if you truly are genuine. Be kind to all, to men,women,kids and animals and dont ever expect anything back from it, just give love and kindness to make the world a better place rather then for your own gain. I strive to be a nice person, i hope i am and even if i dont earn much or get married, its fine with me,as long as i can help others in life. Dont be bitter, be better.

My parents raised me to be a good individual and to be respectful of others, especially elders. That being said, they never taught me about being mentally strong and to not be a "pushover." I now understand why it is hard for me to get a girlfriend. I don't want to be Charlie Brown by any means. By watching your videos Melanie, I am slowly learning how to be the "nice guy" that women like (Superman) as opposed to the guy women don't want (Clark Kent). I am not giving up yet. I look at every conversation or interaction I have with a woman I'm crushing on as a date. As long as it's all positive and we are riveted by each other, it's a date because it's the same way I would interact with her if we were on an official "date". Not sure if this is the right approach or not, because I don't have opportunity to meet women outside my normal day to day activities or work. And before you tell me going after co workers is a bad idea, trust me, I'm well aware!

My father is a narcissistic sociopath so all my life I've done everything I could to be as respectful, compassionate, consider, helpful, NICE as possible but the result wasn't being used it was always people trying to literally murder me. I'm not a "push over" as you say, when I have options I share them, when I'm annoyed by something I'll say it but in a respectable way but literally everyone I've ever met, not just women but people in general, have actually tried to kill me in so many ways including throwing knives at my head. It's not even really something I do to cause it it's just as soon as I get five feet apart from anyone they're suddenly overwhelmed with the urge to end my life. I actually don't struggle with confidence at all, in fact I know I can basically do anything like an expert almost immediately after I try something new. I'm 24 years old and never been on a date or really had friends but it's only because people (including my own family) want to try to kill me as soon as I'm around another living being. It may not be possible for me to get a girlfriend or even friends but on the upside I'm an expert at being able to survive insane life threatening situations.

It really kinda ticked me off when she said if you want to avoid toxic women, you have to be 'good at dating' but the contradiction is that most Mr. Nice Guys DON'T HAVE any dating experience. I mean, think about it, in order to get good at dating, you already have to be good at dating. If I was already good at dating, I wouldn't have come to this video in the first place.

Yes, more videos on this subject if possible. This is a real good "meat and potatoes" video. Getting to the heart of the matter. Which tip am I going to apply first ? Have some standards and enforce them. Not in a harsh way, just me standing by my word. Example: She requesting that I cohabitate with her. I won't do it. I'm a Christian, old fashioned traditionalist, and I believe in courting a lady.

I’ve always been good to women n that’s why they always get comfortable with me n open up in a way that many of them themselves have said was ‘not like I usually do’ or that they feel like I’m ‘so easy to talk to’. The girl I love is a girl that 2.5 years ago told me couldn’t stand the emotional rollercoaster she felt she was riding, but she’s still there after 3.5 years bc other women has been so damn jealous of her bc of Me n bc I’m being so kind to her n also has a good listening ear n really makes her feel valued bc remembering all those tiny details she’s telling me bout, in fact she was even attacked verbally online by six other women off which three of them themselves had interest in Me lol 😆, she got hurt a bit but realized that the real reason is that they envy her n that’s rocket fuel for a woman haha.😝😁

Coach Melannie, there was this woman I like. When I got to know her at first, she was this kind, sweet and understanding lady but the longer I got to know her, I noticed that although she has all these qualities, she almost always never hesitate to poke at my insecurities and sometime I felt like she belittle me in many ways, from ambitions to work and my struggles. I use to laugh because I never mind a good laugh but it reached a point where I begin to question it. She's always excited when we made plans but she hesitated to take photos with me and blamed me for things that doesn't work according to plan. I lost interest because there's this gut feeling that tells me to walk away but tell me, is she toxic or am I too sensitive?

I think the term 'nice guy' is wrong. Offcourse it is a good thing to be friendly and nice to the girl you like. It is not a good thing to be always available, or acting like you are a little obsessed. So I would say 'the guy who doesn't show he has his own life' 😁

After a 20 year marriage, I'm pretty much lost when it comes to dating now. I just turned 64 years old and I have had 4 women I dated. None really worked out because they either lived too far away or they were self absorbed and only thought about themselves. I give up. I like listening to your videos but guys my age don't stand a chance. It's not self pity, it's just the facts. The last woman I dated saw a photo on my Facebook of a young lady (28) that I dated for a month and she thought I was a perv because of the age difference, but the woman asked me out and I went out with her and we had a great time but she moved to Miami. I can't convince her that it was nothing more than a couple of people having fun together and it's over now because of her move. She just wants to remain friends now and I told her that was not what I was looking for. Should I just cut her loose and not go out with her anymore? She's 49 years old (15 years younger than me).

Women are attracted to men that are indifferent to them. When a man doesn't fall all over a woman but instead says "I enjoy your company but I can take you or leave you." and "I may want you but I don't need you." it confuses the woman that thinks all she has to do is show up. After that she will pursue said man.

She's having fun and an ego boost at your expense. There was no way to know this until you asked her for a coffee date and were turned down. If she really liked you she would have accepted. Perhaps, she wanted you to ask her out to a far more expensive first date, which would boost her ego further, and then she would have the pleasure of turning down more dates with you.

I have a question. My Mom just showed up an hour ago. She rang my doorbell, and blocked the peephole with her hand. I didn't know who it was, so I waited to open the door until she walked away and I could see who it was. I don't know why she did this, but she then proceeded to go clean up my bedroom, after she came in and talked with me for a little bit. I could tell I needed to say something, but she never listened to me before. How do I set up strong boundaries with people? It honestly feels terrible to put my foot down, like I'm some kind of monster if I assert authority. This is a weakness from being manipulated, neglected, and abused, and I would like to know if there is a better way to learn how to set boundaries without forcing it too hard. I did tell her, "well I think it would be better if I did that," but she continued. My younger sister who came with her, did also point out that I didn't ask for her to do anything, and I believe that seemed to get through to her. My mom also says things that tears down my confidence, she pointed out that if I try too hard at getting girls, it won't work out for me because they will notice. I replied something like "well, I think that's for me to decide. Trying hard with less results isn't attractive, but it's not up to you to decide what's going to work out or not." The thing is, dominance, assertiveness and confidence are extreme vulnerabilities for me, and I'm afraid of trying to exercise strength, because it reveals to everyone if you have what it takes, and I've failed to assert authority many times. Do you have something to help me with this?
@CoachMelannie

@@CoachMelannie What if the very process of setting boundaries still isn't respected? What if you aren't seen as a man, but as the villain, for simply setting boundaries? I told my mother I wanted the authority I have in my home to be respected, that I wanted her to respect me, but she thought I was backstabbing her, hurting her, and said that I wasn't thankful for her help. I can't tell if she's intentionally setting up a narrative or actually believes it, but I do know that if I subscribe to her version of events, that I'll never break free. I'll never be able to find confidence in myself, or have self-esteem. The stakes are freedom or her love, and it hurts inside. Do you have anything on how to set boundaries in a way that gets people to listen? She believes her victim mentality above all else. She believes everyone is the villain except herself. She even believes that she can carve out her own salvation. How do you fight back when someone feigns ignorance, or cannot believe anything else but their own narrative? (Especially since I have an INFP personality type, which means I struggle to have full confidence in anything, I even believe people to some degree even when I know they're lying, although this could be in part from the type of narcissistic abuse I've been through). What I'm going through is very similar to when Charlie Brown tries to kick the football, but Lucy pulls it away every time, except it's as if Lucy threatens to hurt Charlie Brown in a subtle way if he tells her "no," while Charlie Brown knows no one will take his side or believe Lucy did anything to him. He knows it would be more painful and lonely to defy her, than to just try kicking the ball.
