Oh, Valerie! Watching you push the pins into the map you've dreamed of was such a full circle moment. I wanted to tell you that I've been watching your videos for two years now, and you've had such an incredible impact on me (as I know you have on so many others). This year, I am officially applying to PhD programs in Psychology, which has been my dream for the last 6 years. For me, this is my deep dark water. It is so competitive and challenging, but I feel an incredible pull towards this unknown. I thought you'd be delighted to know that your videos have impacted me so much that I've developed several research questions around ideas you've posited that resonated with me--I'm currently researching social media addiction, and aim to understand how this addictive behavior (doom scrolling) can be prevented. I also hope to research purpose and meaning in life, and how these feelings change people's lives. I have your fine art print 'Introspection' hanging in my bedroom in a gold frame, and it always reminds me to not fear the cold water. Your light permeates all over the world Valerie! Thank you

I’m crying right now. You are an inspiration. I am a licensed teacher and a registered nurse at the same time. But art has always been my first love. I’m tired of pleasing other people especially my parents. They never asked what I really want to do. If I ever bring up something like art, they just brush it off as if it doesn’t matter. Art is where I am happiest. It’s when I create that I am my true self. And it’s true that sometimes we just need at least one person to just truly believe in us. I wish someone in my family would tell me to follow my heart and chase what truly makes me happy.

Be that person for yourself. So many of us end up spread in other career paths (which is kinda cool to see artist all over) but a lot of people feel divided between their passions and ‘practical’ work. Don’t be afraid to make space for your art wherever that looks. You won’t have to cater to other people’s wishes for you forever but you’ll always have yourself. And the people who believe in you will come ❤

Valerie… look at how many pins you have in your map already… you have created something of yourself from within… that has touched other peoples all over the world… that makes them want it in their own lives, because it has touched them also. That is my definition, my ( opinion)… of when a painting… is no longer just a painting… but is truly now ART !!! I hope that makes sense… it was meant to be a compliment… I have my print… I ordered from you… because I appreciate your painting… and now it’s art that hangs in my home. By living for yourself you have touched others. Continued success in your creative journey… Your spirit shines brightly… 🌎🕊️ 🌜🌞🌛

People have done this to me since art school. My parents were artists and my father would disparage my "woman art".Also other male teachers tried to say I was narrow minded because I was focused on what inspired me .I think I have overcome all of that but I still doubt myself.I focused more on my family than my art but never gave up.Now I am older I am determined to just do what inspires me and not listen to anyone unless I respect them and ask for advice.Thank you for your wisdom.❤

Hi Val.. I related so much to ur video cause I've been doing shadow work and inner child healing for the last 4 years. I was surrounded by so many people and had lost myself before.confuse, angry, self sabotage were my companion. Now I listen to my soul higher self and obviously it comes with losing a lot of people with different thinking. It's very peaceful and fulfilling now. The chandelier looks very classy and beautiful and the painting is incredible as always. Take care of urself 🩷💛🩷

This title is amazing!!! Perfect synchronicity for me! In the last couple of weeks what has been coming up for me are signs that I need to believe in myself as an artist. I'm a watercolor artist turning my work into surface pattern designs. I find it interesting that the length of this video is 22:17. I've been seeing combinations of 2's and 7's that mean believe in yourself. 2217 means believe that there are no limits and you can succeed in what you want when you put your heart and soul into it!! I've had so many synchronicities with your videos, Valerie, along my path and this is just another amazing one! Also, I need that print for my collection : )

It’s always such an experience when you’re going through a change in your life and someone you’ve never met and may never meet makes a video that resonates that almost describes what you’re going through. I’m going through a lot of spiritual and emotional upheaval, not in my art but in my social life. I find that my needs aren’t being met and I feel like I need to grow. My friends don’t understand me and I’ve grown tired of years of baring my soul only to be demonized or tossed away. It’s been hard to let them go, I’m not cutting myself off from them but I have to recognize that what I need if different from what they want and what they were willing to give and trying to be this altered version of myself to suit them isn’t working. So I decided very recently that I’m going to be my own bestie and cheerleader. I have to look after myself and advocate for myself and help me get to where ever it is I need to go, even if it means it’s without them. They helped me through a lot but love and friendships aren’t always forever, not like how it is in fiction. I thank them for what they taught me but it’s time I focus on writing my own story instead because I know who I want to be and holding myself back to in hopes of being loved isn’t worth it anymore and that’s fine. There are no rules to life. Just live, laugh and love (as corny as that is) ❤️

This is one of your greatest videos yet. I love the messages and the way you casually explain your trial and error on your couch. This video especially gives me so much motivation and strength right now. I'm struggling with people (friends, family, colleagues) occasionally and want to but feel like I can't distance myself, like I'm nothing alone. And your videos help me so much to get out of that mindset and be fine on my own. I really like the way you openly speak up about what we all know but don't know how to deal with. You show us the problem, the solution and happiness in one go. It's also such a joy to see you being happy about furniture, art and little things. Your videos are such a great motivation!

Hi Valerie, I came across your video a few months ago. But it is only 2 days ago that the words you said speak to my situation, almost like you are a close friend. I cried when hearing you said something along the line of pushing through it and you were sentimental about your msg too. Anw life right now is pretty confusing and suffocating and I found paintings as a gateway from the pain that I could feel inside, a temporary relief to the unsettling thoughts. Not only your words but also your paintings make me feel calm, serene and hopeful what the future could hold. The paintings you create speak louder than any self help books could narrate, it is soothing and ethereal at the same time it made me wonder whether we are not from another realm, or fairy dimension getting lost on Earth 😅 Because of that, I wondered if you would consider making a Patreon where you could teach us how to paint in your style and hopefully discover our artistic voice. Thanks a lot ❤❤❤

It's a campaign I'm working on for my small business, but I find myself procrastinating every time I start doubting myself, and thinking of fear of failure. Watching you and talking so wisely, with such assertiveness, confidence, based on your experience, along with the beautiful shots you filmed of you doing your artwork, trying new skills, embellishing your art studio, truly inspired me to go and do my own creative work. And stopped doubting 💕 I'll come back to this video whenever I have self-doubt or for creative blocks. Thanks for sharing your artwork and your ideas and lifestyle Valerie ✨️🥰

Ah, endlich! 💖💖💖 (P.S. Ich liebe Deine Motive! Politische Szenen? Bläh.)

Thank you so much Valerie for your message and it’s so true that people don’t want you to have more they have and it doesn’t matter what anybody think of others that’s why I opted to not have so called friends and settled for acquaintances. I have been an introvert off and on through out my life and I’m more comfortable being by myself. I do love and appreciate having a loving relationship with one special person when ever it presents itself.

Valerie😊 you are soooooo far ahead of the “typical “ life-struggle mindset! I’m in my mid fifties and it makes me so happy to watch your videos and share in your evolution that you lovingly share. It’s inspiring, affirming, and so important for our culture today for ALL ages! ❤

I was going to study medicine too. I had already been working with different doctors during schoolbreaks, doing internships and helped at a vets on the weekends for years. I chose all my subjects for that goal and studied constantly. I aced all my classes, full marks in 13 subjects. Then my health crashed. I found out I would not be able to practice as a physician with my chronic disabilities and diseases. I fell back on what I had known only as a recreation. The only thing I was able to do from bed in pain despite exhaustion: Draw/Paint. I gave it my all put every ounce of the little energy I had into practicing and building my skill. I did not want to be a burden and useless being. My entire life consists of art now. I live only to create. My life is so entirely different from what I and everyone around me expected it to be. But I feel it is also a lot more true to myself. I almost feel like I had a narrow escape in finding the path I was truly meant to be on. ❤

Hi Valerie, I’ve watched all of your videos -some more than once- and i always love to do it. They are so inspirational and they remind me my artsy, calm and intellectual side that can fade throughout the caotic daily routine. Your speechs are like the reflections of my thoughts most of the time. I’m so thankful for discovering your channel and congratulations from now for the map goal -even i’m so excited about it🥹- i hope you achieve to pin every city as soon as possible girll✨🩵

Valerie, I was thinking about this video for days now!! I felt the rage about the professor thing so much and I can relate so much. I studied fashion design in Berlin and I never felt seen or my design choices always felt „wrong“ because it’s too feminine, to tailored, too much fitted to the waist etc.. I heard it all and at some point I felt the need to change.. my style of drawing, my style of designing etc. I moved out of Berlin in July and started a master in Hamburg and let me tell you, I feel so much better without those opinions that I actually never really cared about! I even started with KZbin too because I felt the need to do my thing now lol. I think you were a big inspiration when it comes to that point. Thank you for your words. You are a true inspiration ❤
