I've been driving and used these videos, but let me tell you that you need actual lessons in a car. Videos can help, but they are not good enough solely. Driving requires 4 limbs and a head that has to rotate and eyes working constantly. Cameras can never become what the natural eyes see. I'm glad these instructors make it clear that driving videos are not a substitute for actual driving lessons. Driving lessons are serious hard work especially driving manual.

Thanks for this video. We don't have this type of parking in Switzerland, but we often have to "get in lane" (a dictionary tells me), i.e. getting close to the curb before turning to the right (right handed traffic). The curbs are super high compared to the UK and my instructor often had to take control before I hit the curb.

Do you have any tips for lost confidence for new drivers? I passed in March this year and have had a couple of minor prangs (clipped wing mirror). I've totally lost my early confidence since having to shell out a few hundred quid to put things right! I'm an older new driver at 50.
@ConquerDriving4 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that, try driving when it's quieter and easier, confidence comes with success so the key is to give yourself the best chance at success.
@rosekay70902 жыл бұрын
Hello Trevor, the fact that you were determined and confident enough to pass your driving test as “late learner” is significant enough that you can achieve almost anything. I also passed in march and just got my car a few weeks ago. I struggle with parking and haven’t been on the Motoway yet. You cannot allow your setbacks to define your destiny as a driver. I would recommend you take pass plus lessons with someone you feel comfortable with. The only way to overcome fear is to keep on doing what makes you scared. It feels so great overcoming these hurdles in my driving and feeling more skilled and confident. Thanks to this channel, we have a forum to turn to for advice and motivation. Best of luck with your driving!

great video! i’ve been struggling with this. if you park too far away on your test, are you allowed to fix this or will you get minors / faults?
@ConquerDriving3 жыл бұрын
You can fix it but they're not that fussy. Be careful when you fix it not to start moving without checking round first. You could mislead someone if you started moving. You will get marked down of you keep adjusting, then beat thing to do is let the car roll until you're happy with your position.

Any tips to keep on straighting the car? I always overdone the counter-steel (right) and need to turn left again and it goes on and on. Should it be a little over the reference point that I get some margin to turn right?
@ConquerDriving2 жыл бұрын
Most new drivers do too much counter steer, it's normal to be a bit side to side when parking until you gain more experience. Try looking at the kerb and up the road, the curb tells you how close you are and looking up the road helps you judge if you're straight.

Love the content! How about if there's a vehicle and you want to park or stop in front of it next to the curb? Obviously then the curb will be a bit further and a bit forward.
@ConquerDriving Жыл бұрын
Stopping after a car is more difficult, if you can continue far enough forward then it should still give you time to line up with the kerb properly. If not, you can reverse to finish lining up.
@nashrahazad82232 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot.. During driving test while pulling up in left can i reverse my car to get close to the kerb?is it acceptable?
@ConquerDriving2 жыл бұрын
If you do it safely there is nothing wrong with it. But to keep the test simple just pull over in an easy spot forwards, you only need to get within a drains width of the kerb. I use the mirror method for when I want to get super close to leave my car parked for a while.
