Dec 1st down under. Little known fact about Australia is that we actually have 5 seasons. Summer, Autumn (Fall), Winter, Spring and FU(K Y0U. FU can happen at any time during any season haha

@@phizzle24 Well thank you, I have put my lawn away for winter. Now its loaded with christmas lights and decorations (check it out kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJbNg4Kjbs1qoas mine is all the way to the end with the huge chritnas tree if lights). But i had a great year with my lawn, best ever, because i was locked in my house and it was the only thing keeping me sane. You have a great lawn, and got lots of good tips from you, enjoy the summer while we push through the winter.

Yo mate, what up? Stay cool down there. We just got another foot of snow & temps are still well below freezing. I'm ready for Spring. Interesting video. I never thought of the possibility of localized spots of hydrophobic soil. Definitely things to keep in mind. What an interesting weekend for LFC?! Van Dijk gets a game winner & Coutinho is sold for an obscene fee. The midseason transfer & high price confuses me because Barca doesn't need him right now. They could've easily waited until Summer. Yo John! Yeah it’s nice and warm! Had a cool change today with a bit of rain which is nice. I bet you are ready for spring. Can’t believe how cold it has been over there! Hydrophobic soil is a big issue in Australia, still is in the states just not as bad. Such an interesting weekend wasn’t it! Good buy Van Dijk was! Glad we snapped him up. As for Coutinho, it is quite sad. Awesome little player, he will me missed no doubt. From what I have read online he has been keen to leave since July. We have a solid team now! So I’m not worries, just disappointed. Hope you have a good week mate YNWA Ben

I don’t mind the hortec sprayer for patches - seems to work effectively, I can focus in on the dry areas and it’s more convenient. Even though it pumps more water out that’s not such a bad thing when the grass needs to be watered in anyway

If your not a kitchen guy I would avoid the kitchen, the washing up and ANY ionic products indoors or out LOL ! Best not to risk it ! Just kidding - great video liked the music around the 8 minute mark. Very chilled.

Please tell me what type of lawn you have, it’s beautiful I had Canbera blend a blend of Tall Fine Fescue and Kentucky Bluegrass which died from 35+ summer heat, brown patches and waterlogged soil I did a test plot with sir water DNA but it wasn’t my thing so thinking of going back to Canbera blend given I now might know wha to do/care for the lawn thanks to your videos Thanks Ben

Too good ben!!! Matt actually does have awesome products down at lawnporn i use a few of them daily with my clients, especially the liquid ferterlizer!! As for the wetting agent products, they are all great, bi agra must be really good if it's designed for the Perth dry summer!!! Where as Lawn porn moist must be amazing as its put together by a reputable team. And then there's hydrolink which from what I hear is used by most turf professionals!!! Keep up the great work Ben you're a true champion....yo what up mate!!! Lol

Dishwashing liquid does work and break the surface tension. But could "reduce" the good microbes with antibacterial chemicals. Burns if you used too much because it also has degreasers.

Hi Josh, I'm hoping this is a simple question to answer, How do you know how much 5-10mm of water is applied, when your using your average home watering gun or equipment? Excellent Video thank you :)

I always keep a few transparent food boxes handy ( lunch/dinner takeaway boxes from the local supermarket)...I mark 10 , 20 mm on all 4 sides with a permanent marker and place it on the grass before watering.....so when it is 10 mm full, I toss the water out and place it on another patch and start watering it....and so on...

Great vid ! I’m currently using the plant doctor soil wetter, have done 2 applications over 3 months so far .. not sure it’s doing much for my hydrophobic areas. Do you recommend this soil wetter ?

Slightly off topic question but none the less pertinent. Do you use the same sprayer for things like roundup?

I sure do man. I always triple rinse after I use any product in it though and spray through the nozzle until it stops bubbling from the chemical.

I know you have done vids on mowing but could you do more, maybe about not what to do or tricks and tips and how to whipper snip around things nicely...also is it ok to push and pull on the same line I only have a small area and it’s a pain to turn the mower at the garden bed end

I usually just cut around the actual sprinkler head with a knife and then clear away all the dirt and grass 👍🏽

You only have to apply the wetting agent once a season if that’s all you desire. Otherwise you could aerate the lawn.

Thanks Chris!! Most wetting agents help to retain the moisture in the soil. Bi Agra is sold as a moisture retaining wetting agent.

Hey mate I'm losing large patches of lawn, it's pretty compacted the soil but could regular wetting agent help being the grass back or is it to late with the compaction? Cheers

Brad Mitchell Hi Brad, I know you didn’t ask me, but I believe I can help as I had a similar situation with my brother’s yard which was very compacted and hydrophobic. He tried to use a wetting agent but it didn’t work because of the compaction. Basically, the soil had formed a crust and even wetting agents couldn’t penetrate. I fixed this issue for him by aerating the soil thus allowing the wetting agent to penetrate the soil via the plug holes. Then I applied the wetting agent (FYI I used Seasol Super Soil Wetter and Conditioner). I did this once a fortnight for 2 months. His lawn bounced back brilliantly. If you’d like to test this, use a pitch fork to aerate a small section of lawn. Add Seasol generously. You’ll see a difference in a day or two. Nothing drastic in that short time, but proof of concept. Hope this helps.
