Brother i wonder the same thing. The thing is i think, that people confuse fighters with being a good coach. They see a good fighter and expect him to be able to give that knowledge and skill to someone. Nope. Giving someone skills is a skill in itself. It's called pedagogy. And everyone just don't have it. That's why Mike Tysons coach Cus D'Amato wasn't a good fighter, but he was the world's best coach. He knew how to coach.

Hey champ! I have fought in Scandinavia, Australia and once in the US. I have retired since many years back. I'm 42 years old. I had my first fight this past Friday. I got punched in the face so many times because my defense was so bad. I was so flinchy too. I wish I would have found this material earlier. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Bro i feel like this should be the video anybody starting out shoukd watch. 2 or 3 spars in everyone should watch this. Coaches don't like to be told anything different as you probably know, (their way or the high way type attitude) this is fantastic bro honestly

Cheers brother! I fully agree with you! This is how i coach my entire groups before they do any free sparring. And after that I keep a close eye on them to make sure that they slow it down it it gets out of hand any time they get heated. Sparring should be slowly increased. No one should just jump in and spar fully free. Train Hard Fight Easy 💯😃💯

Yes this is so good! I wish I was taught this when I started training. The first boxing gym I went to the "coach" threw me into sparring and it wasn't technical sparring either. Once my month was up at that gym I never went back. But thank God I found a way better gym.

Best intro to boxing sparring I have seen. Well done. I think the kid needs another week of footwork and bag drills though before sparring because he doesn't seem to know the basic punches and he has a really high unbalanced stance.

Great stuff and presented in a clear and simple way! I started kick boxing last week and they gave us 1 round of punch only. I was flimching like mad: closing the eyes, arms in front and running back. I ate a pumch to the neck, one almost to the nose and one almost to my tool... I will check oit more videos from your channel, but I'm interested in how do we manage this issue with kicks? Best regards!

Yeah well I'm not a psychologist but as a coach I sure do see a difference between some kids and others where a few are extremely punch shy. So yeah you never know man. Some people might have gone through some sh. Either way. This will help em. 💯
