Drops were a problem no doubt, but seems like JT should have pulled it more. IMO they should be able to light that style of defense up this year - too many receiving threats and YAC monsters. Imagine Coleman running that route on the last play, or even Portier

Kev, how dare you make a video like this. Don't you know our opponents coaches are watching these and learning from these? But in all seriousness, drops killed us this game. I thought it was the worst game our receivers played all year. Jordan didn't play well either and if I remember correctly, this was the game Jordan's body language was bad too.

Yeah you can't make that many mistakes against that good of a defense. Even that last play I place the blame mostly on pitman. Just a soft route

The drops were BAD this game. So was our D-line. In the context of the game, the fact that we were that depleted and still that close to having a shot at winning says all you need to know. If both lines are healthy, NCst would have been screwed.

We literally played half of the game with a backup QB that couldn’t complete a forward pass and you’re blaming the loss on injuries 🥴. Kinda cringe ngl

NC state’s game plan on this game was solid and their FS #10 was underrated.

We have too many weapons for this to repeat next season! This was by far our worst loss because we could have won. I put most of the blame for the loss on the Coaching, it was very similar to JSU. In the akimbo Fisher era, we would always lose one stupid game playing down to their level. We got a shot at a special season, even if you stop the run, not many teams can stop Our TE and Receivers! How do you stop Coleman on the left Wilson, the right, the new TE Bell, and Kentron was balling in the spring, and I haven’t mentioned who will play slot, and for kicks let me throw in an NFL caliber running back!

The O-line was the issue for this game. They kept getting beat and NCstate was almost always in the backfield as soon as the ball was hiked, killing any chance for the play to develop.

Kev what would you say FSU could’ve done to fix the issues at NC State? Was there any position group that was particularly lacking or was it in game errors that killed us? If it’s the latter, do you think FSU will still fall victim to those errors or will the improved personnel allow more consistency?

I think the OL killed FSU. Smith kept getting blown up and Jaz couldn't keep up. There's not much you can do other than build depth, which they did this offseason. I'm still worried that great DLs can do this to FSU, but realistically there's probably only a few of those in the country. Compound that with the errors and FSU lost a game they shouldn't have. I think of this game was played again, FSU would find a way to win 7 times out of 10, I just think that this was one of those 3.

In spite of how much trouble the offense had, we were in a position to win the game late in the 4th quarter. It's easy to have 20/20 hindsight and I know we did not think "Fitzmagic" was reliable but man, how did we not just do 3 safe runs there at the end and try a walk-off field goal? He had already kicked a walkoff FG to in the 1st half. I was certain that was going to be the story. I guess that's all OT but I can't think about the NC State game without going there.

dude, its a new season, and the noles are loaded. the question is , who you gone double. here's a look at there recievers. jaem bell/ johnny wilson/ keon coleman. all super play makers. mis matches all across the board. they wont be stopped. they will win out this season if there dee is even half decent. they should score every time they get the ball.

Simply put, if JT pulls a few more times and we don't have an insane amount of drops we score 30+ and it is a double digit win. But in 23 you have an even better OL and guys like Keon Coleman and Jaheim Bell. So apples to oranges comparison.

@@XsandNoles I see 3 defenses that provide challenges on the schedule. LSU, Clemson and Pitt. Not convinced any can truly stop us without us helping. And I expect our defense to be better with so many returning players and the additions of Cypress and D Jackson. So it should be a fun year.

Good Vid Kev. NC state Linebackers played outstanding. Seeing the drops on 3rd down made me remember just how frustrating this game was to watch. And the cherry on top was remembering my stomach drop when Mycah got knocked off his route for the game winning INT 🤮who all on our schedule this year runs the 3 man front?

I like to play devil's advocate tbh. This is a top 10 team. Maybe a top 5 team. But people are talking about then g being a top 1 team in the fan base. I think it's worthwhile to go back over these games. If a "less talented" team could stop FSU, what's keeping another team from sneaking up on them next year? I really want to just know the profile if team that gives FSU trouble. Should help us have realistic expectations.

@@XsandNoles Thanks Kevin. I'm all about some reality. I don't count on anything but for them to go out there and do the best they can. I will never be one to call or C. Norvell's head if he only gets 8 or 9 wins this season considering where they were just 1 1/2 years ago. I just think, as I'm sure you do, that they have to go out and EARN their rankings.
