I’ve had in person lessons with Adam and have struggled hooking the ball myself. I did these drills 2 days in a row and am hitting beautiful fades! Really emphasize the body and hitting the ball with the shaft like he says. Another factor was the trail wrist. Even with a cupped lead wrist my trail wrist/palm would still “twist or push” the face closed at the top of the swing. Helped to imagine opening my trail palm to the sky or the waiter tray position or whatever it’s called! Haha Adam Thank you so much you are the best coach! Hope to see you soon.

So I tried everything in the book as far as not hooking the ball Left. In this video you do the drill where you stop the club in front of you suddenly. OMG that worked. I don't have the distance as much but the ball is incredibly straight. Now how do I start getting distance back. I can't swing and stop the club in front of me all the time. I think that is causing the distance issue but fixing the hook issue

Glad you made progress David

@@Scratchgolfacademy yes but do you recommend I just try to freeze the club in front of me from now on?

Have the same feel but keep rotating your body. Don’t snap it quite as hard on course for better control

Will my too strong of a grip cause the hooks?
@spencepurnell283724 күн бұрын
Yes! When you release the club the face will have a tendency to twist left. When I experimented with a strong grip, it really felt like I had to lay the wrists off through impact

I'm the guy whose ball does not stay on the golf course you referenced 50 seconds in :(
