These negative thoughts aren't even mine. It's like I have an enemy in my mind. It is so cruel. Even making me confused or question reality...like my own real opinion or something that happened. Asdf Ghjkl do not EVER get scared of yourself. Fearing your self is fearing who you are, and how amazing you have been, are, and WILL be. And think of this: If your so worried over your thoughts, and are trying to prevent them with all you have, then you obviously don't AGREE with them!! They are bs. You have to stand strong and say I am BETTER than my thoughts! They mean nothing. I love you and everyone else going through this or not, because you deserve the support and love. And if you cant get these bs thoughts put of your head, TELL SOMEONE YOU TRUST!!! They have 99.9 percent been through the same thing you have! It will feel like an a million pound weight was RELEASED! I love you and everyone else, and kick your thoughts' TAIL with the strong you! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

@Delmarvafishing
@Delmarvafishing 5 жыл бұрын
Garima you have control of your mind not your thoughts, the more you try to control them the worse you feel. Next time you have an intrusive thought, say to your self "outloud if you have to" that thought is not going to help in any way and I will not entertain it. It takes a lot of practice, the more you have the thought the more you must practice this the easier it will get.

My thoughts are so mean at times. It makes me feel depressed and cry sometimes. I feel like a horrible mother when I never and won’t do these horrible things to my kids. It makes me impulsively give extra love and kisses to my kids to make up for my horrible thoughts. I hate that I have bad thoughts often. I try CBT with repeating a saying to calm the thoughts, but sometimes it doesn’t work. It’s just some days are bad and I feel sad. I love my kids immensely. 😔🥰❤️

This really helps. I've been struggling with intrusive thoughts for years now. But what I've learned is that they always go away, they are like waves in the ocean, the come and they go away. Sometimes it is a tsunami type of wave, sometimes it's a calm wave, sometimes it's a very aggressive thought and sometimes its just a thought with a little touch of negativity. What I'm trying to say is, it is just temporary, like the waves. You should never try to trace an intrusive thought down, just accept it and move on with your day. If someone are going through a hard time with their intrusive thoughts right now, I want you to know that you are never alone, I and many other people knows what it feels like. Have an incredible day!

My intrusive thoughts are the worst they come and go and when they come they stick like glue and when I challenge them they get worse. I think starting by how we respond is important not how we react. Thinking mindfully and observing what we are thinking rather than seeking approval for them helps with managing intrusive thoughts.

The more years that go by and i become more aware of my intrusive thoughts i become stronger. I don’t get scared anymore, only that it’s exhausting. You are strong. Honestly, stronger than most. You’d be surprised what all you can accomplish. And when others see you accomplish these goals of yours, you’ll blow everyone’s mind including your own. We also need to observe ourselves. See everything, including our self, in 3rd person point of view. That helps us realize we're just strongly against the thoughts and that's why we pay attention to them, cuz they hurt us and cause us anxiety. Realize you're anxious and they're just thoughts.✌

Not gonna lie, hearing someone talk about it who has experienced it helps me feel a lot better. I like the Zen approach of noticing them and being an observer rather than fighting them in your mind, because once you start to fight them your mind will try to solve it; And once it solves it, it can sometimes throw an even more complex thought at you to solve next. I just started meditation yesterday and it was great, and now im starting to feel a lot better about this. Thank you.

The cbt approach is a bit scary because some of the mistakes I made I would deem to be quite serious and shameful as I hold myself to a very high moral standard because OCD

Thank you for explaining this. I needed it. I keep having negative thoughts that don't seem to be my own. Things I would never consider seriously, I can't even explain. It shook me when I had them and I got in this nasty loop of anxiety. I even started to link it to places. Like when I go to bed, I will have these thoughts, when I am alone, when I am at work, etc. The truth is these thoughts come and go and my mind has control over what happens. That is empowering. I am in control.

Fantastic video, Scott. I’ve been struggling with this for a while. Talking to someone or writing the thoughts down helps to get them out of my mind. Without those tools, I become convinced I’m an evil psycho because some of the thoughts are messed up. But I never chose to have them.

Thank you . thought i was the only one suffering from this. My thoughs are horrible. They come mostly at night and do not leave for hours. Ive tried smacking my face in a desperate attempt trying with all my strength thinking it would make them stop. Im completely helpless. My next option is to check into a mental facility. All i need is one unexpected thought to ruin my ENTIRE day. I appreciate this channel emensly. I know im not my thoughts and I certainly refuse to let my mental illness cause me to sink down into a major depression resulting in self harm. looking for a way out and quiet my subconscious once and for all FINALLY !! I am not sure why, this happenss but Im sick of it.

Thank you for sharing this. Your videos are very very helpful and I am very excited to see a new video from you every time. You have been a great help to me, you don't know how much. I have been able to find motivation and experience calmness with you. Thank you, thank you for sharing your time with people like me experiencing anxiety and depression. Thank you for making me feel that I am not alone. Unfortunately, I don't have friends to go to for help, family is not very open to these things with me and I can't afford therapy. So finding your channel has been a life saver for me and I am so grateful. It's a great deal for me to be able find support like you are giving. Sometimes I am crying in the middle of the night watching to your videos and feeling a sense of relief. You are a great person for sharing your experiences and your knowledge. Thank you kindly!

I lost my relationship because of this kind of thinking and realizing that it all could have be different if I had accepted I was overthinking and accepting the negative thoughts as true. It's terrible but even though I know the relationship was probably one of the most wonderful things in my life and that this person was the one person for me and I fell into deep depression because I was so afraid that I'll never find a person like them I'll never have that experience with anybody else but then I realized that even that thinking is intrusive and I'm going to start doing a CBT chart and working on myself and hopefully something good will come into my life from it by working on how I deal with my thoughts.

Dawson Smith me and my boyfriend have been together for 2 years and six months. I’m only able to see him during school. In summer I felt like I was losing feelings; however, we broke up and I realized I still loved him. But for the past 4 months I’ve been obsessing over thoughts. At first it started as “what if I don’t love him anymore”. I’ve been barely a week free from breaking down about the situation. Now I just feel and believe that I don’t love him anymore and I want to love him. I don’t know if this is normal or it means it’s an end

@@marycerda958 Just the way you talk about it, 4 months of obsessing is really quite indicative of at least high anxiety. It's of course your decision but it seems to be causing you a lot of distress, definitely not the reaction of someone you feel nothing for. I understand your worries :)

Seriously thank you! Sometimes I wonder what the hell is wrong with me. I get the most random thoughts and they scare me because they make me think I might do something dumb. But knowing that they’re just random alleviates some stress. I think our ultimate goal as humans is to learn to manage our thoughts. 🙏
