This is undoubtedly a topic that warrants a part two. Mrs. Domingo continues to impress with her eloquence, depth, and well-rounded expertise in both Christian-based discussions and broader subjects. I’m eager to hear Pen’s insightful questions when we revisit this topic in the upcoming part two. Mrs D you are incredible ❤

...I think with the unfolding of a conversation, people should learn to qualify at any point of change in statements, change into whether they are being honest or idealistic. A lot of interviews suck because people think they can move in and out of the two spaces unchecked.

25:39 whilst lobola has been perverted, it actually is a biblical principle. I respect the opinions and especially the sovereignty of free will and ultimately I hope we don’t further pervert or twist the principles of God in the name of free will.
@PenuelismАй бұрын
@@sibusisobhebhe7490 please elaborate.
@sibusisobhebhe7490Ай бұрын
@ the conversation on lobola was a conversation between the man who intends to Marry and the father of the bride, the principle was to honor the family of the bride. It essentially gave the man who is marrying the woman rights to name his children after him. Granted some cultures and practices were or are abusive to women and children but I feel it is folly of us to then disregard all of these principles in the name of free will. Lobola brought two families together and officialized the union but in the process it created safeguards and safety nets for the couple as they work to stay married. It was never designed to be harmful to women and children and the abusive nature of individuals should be treated as just that without tearing apart our values and culture because it is detrimental to generations that come and society as a whole. Absorption of new cultures and practices should be handled carefully so that we can better our experience of life so that it doesn’t cost us more than we would have bargained for.
@PenuelismАй бұрын
@@sibusisobhebhe7490 Thank you for the response. iLobolo was about bringing families together and thanking the girl's family with what you had. I'm not aware that other Christians, besides black Africans, practice the idea of a man's family giving money to the woman's family. Please correct me.
@sibusisobhebhe7490Ай бұрын
What Africans have struggled to do is to adopt Christian values and apply them to African values and this is because of colonialism, Christianity is a cultural practice in its own right and it was imported into our own culture and because of some of the conflicting values and modernization we are choosing to forgoe our culture and we have come up with very interesting and clever ways to justify this.
@morethelamokoena1826Ай бұрын
@@sibusisobhebhe7490true people must also acknowledge that christianity is african! Christ is the lion of judah! Judaism and christianity are one they are interconnected an interrelated! African spirituality without faith is irrelevant and evil

54:36 - 55:25 You cannot reconcile with someone who does not show remorse/is not remorseful for the hurt that they've caused you and has never apologized. Some situations are irreconcilable and sadly even the kids cannot reconcile with the father. 🤷🏾♂️ Maybe when they are older and can defend themselves emotionally, financially, physically, spiritually, etc etc. 🤔

Africans, Hallo! (in English), please stop having important conversations without historical context. No one on this discussion has mentioned the History of Marriage. Marriage is an institution, it came from somewhere, it has an origin. Once you understand it's historical significance, you can inform its present incarnation.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't lobolo there in the Bible?, (dowry). Why is it that Christians say they don't believe in lobolo because it's not in the Bible, but I've seen verses that speak of lobolo but some is in a form of acts of service or gifts. I don't remember where it mentions money though. I need some education here.

This lady is respectful and polite. She speaks eloquently and clearly, but what she's saying about family, customs, bible understanding is lacking substance. When you reference the Bible, don't pick the rose and leave the steam and say God is for it. I will come back later and share a few key points as to why I disagree or say the above statement.
