Public Interest and Legal Protections: The court’s role is to balance public interest with individual rights. Basically, in relation to freedom of expression, the law clearly stated that the term Hurtful is broad in term and for hate speech to be amounted it should have a narrower definition in order to avoid endless court proceedings. The point that I am trying to make is that protection should not come at the cost of innocent people. What about section 9? Equality before the law when it comes to such matters. The court in the presented case should have also considered both sides when it comes public interests, yes, rape is real, and it is occurring at an alarming rate however it should also consider that some women use the law for spiteful agendas.
