Thanks for the tips. I haven't played in front of anybody besides family yet; but I think my skill level is pretty close to doing that soon. I'm sure I'll need to use one of these tips some day. Congrats on almost 100k!!

Love this, thank you! Do you or can you make a video on getting a worship guitar tone?❤

Yes

I'm not really a worship guitarist. But I would probably keep it simple: Clean amp (or amp sim), compressor, overdrive, tweakable delay with tap tempo, and an ambient reverb. Any guitar would do. Not much else you'd need.

This reminds me of a recent vid showing John Mayer hitting the wrong note but he plays through and resolves it beautifully. Do you have tips on how to find the resolution on a wrong note when out of key?
@andrewclarkeguitar16 күн бұрын
I saw that recently as well! So cool how giving it context can change the way an "outside" note is perceived. What he did there is not exactly simple and depending on which "wrong" note is played, you would have to totally change your approach. You're essentially sliding it in chromatically, which is fairly straight forward, or into a modal scale which is more musical but more complicated. I'll have to do a video on it at some point. Maybe I'll use the clip you mentioned and break it down as an example.

Bad advice. Just don't get on stage until you have your act together. This sloppy stuff is what's killing the live music scene. Best advice is - learn HOW to practice and put the time in. Taking it for granted is insulting to the audience. Not being prepared just makes you look like an idiot. Just because it LOOKS easy, doesn't mean it is. I wouldn't practice dentistry, and if my dentist plays a gig, I probably wouldn't go. Know your limitations and stay in your lane.
