Seen this lesson explained many times before but never like this. The 221 method is way easier to understand, and no one has ever talked what you can find in the half steps. Thank you !

The major scale follows the formula "whole, whole, half, whole, whole, whole, half" or WWHWWWH. Beginning on the note C and following this pattern gives us C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C.

I think whats very special and mindblowing for its price with this pedal is it acts like a valve amp well depending on how you dial it a wide variety of fender style amps... But when I say it acts like one I mean I can dial my guitar volume down an get very nice cleans turn it up and get a gritty distortion but where I can still hear all the notes in a chord... But also its touch sensitive depending on how hard I strike a string results in different flavouring.... I've owned a few amp moddellers like Amplifire 12 ...Helix... Headrush touch ... Behringer ... Nux... This pedal for me out does all of them on the realism aspect... Its way better because it feels not only sounds like you are playing through a Valve amp and I am no stranger to them either... Most valve amp sims I have tried aound like it when dialled in but there is no sag ...no feeling half the time dialling down your volume on your guitar just turns down the sound this one it does its job perfectly for me its a keeper I will be looking into the cali sound one next to see if it compares ... As I like mesa boogie ... But great video I just wanted to add this part because when I search amp sims I am looking for how it feels as much as sounds because after all that becomes part of the instrument when you play if it doesn't respond like boxy solid states then whats the point.

Let me save everyone six minutes. If/when you play a note in a scale or run that doesn't sound right for the key and the chords you're supposed to be in, haul ass to a neighboring note, up or down in pitch is okay, then continue like nothing happened. Usually your escape note is on the same string, making it easy to just gliss up or down one fret or possibly make the blown note part of a chromatic sequence, or a resolution back to the right chord in the progression. Or stick that 'wrong' note to dwell for a split second on the tension you just accidentally created then bend it up a half tone to get back on track. Land on the beat and keep going. Make what you did accidentally sound like you meant to. 90% of your listeners don't know anything about music anyway except whether it sounds good or not to them. Stylistic suggestion: If it worked, do it again next time around and people will think you're a creative genius, and it might even become the hook or recurring thematic sound of the song. Handling 'mistakes' effectively when practicing or performing is one of the things that makes you a musician. Thanks to Victor Wooten for this simplified version of scale theory.

Good video. Thanks. Just a quick note: Roman numeral analysis has been around for centuries and Nashville is very similar except that it uses standard numbers for chords instead of Roman numerals. For me personally it makes a lot more sense to use numbers for notes and Roman numerals for chords in order to always make the distinction clear. Also, let's have a quote. "The Nashville Number System is a trick that musicians use to figure out chord progressions on the fly. It is an easy tool to use if you understand how music works. It has been around for about four hundred years, but sometime during the past fifty years Nashville got the credit. - Patrick Costello"

My friend you are going to fast for a lot of people, teachers in schools of any knowledge should never presume everyone understands what they are saying, for instance you used the word : fret, a beginner who tunes into your channel won't know what a fret is. There are beginners wanting to learn but are turned away and lose interest if they cannot find a teacher that will take their time and go slow and explain everything along the way of what they are speaking about, maybe you should start your lessons by saying this lesson are for those past beginner stage. Because a beginner tuning in won't even know what a bar chord is or even how to tune a guitar. If you would just slow down a little it would get more attentive attention to your class. You have a lot of good knowledge to help many interested in guitar, I'm just trying in a nice way to alert you to a suggestion of slowing down a little so more people can follow what you are teaching.

To all my fellow guitar beginners: what you see at 4:15 is what seems to be the A Aeolian shape. It's because.. it is. When you learn A aeolian (natural minor) you automatically also have C major in it. A Aeolian would just start from the 5th fret, and c major from 8th

I've been learning guitar for 50 yrs or so. I really like your 221-2221 phone number format for memorizing intervals. LoL. Lots of good tips and teaching on your channel. I love the note/fretboard diagrams and combining all 3 scale types in one position (pentatonic, major, minor) that really helps me put things together in a very useful way. I also appreciate your clear and concise way of speaking and communicating. Thank you.

I never noticed that every wrong note is the major scale of the tri-tone. Whenever you hit a wrong note in C, you’re in F#! It’s so much easier to see patterns on the fretboard when you can use multiple colors of dots.

so convoluted. This teaches you a gimmicky understanding of the fretboard that will isolate you from playing with other guitarists who use universal terms and standards to communicate.

We can agree to disagree. This is to be used in tandem with one or more of the standard methods for navigating the fretboard as I stated at the beginning. I've found that it does a good job of getting players to start thinking horizontally about scales while still visualizing the vertical shapes they're used to. Which can be very challenging for some beginners/intermediates.
