How to Stop the Rattle on the 2024 Honda Motocompacto and Extra Sound Dampening Mod!

No More Rattles! Making Your Motocompacto Super Stealthy
Is your cool Motocompacto suffering from a case of the jitters? Does it sound like a grumpy bumble bee instead of a smooth-riding machine? Don't worry, you can be a motomechanic for a day and fix those pesky rattles!
Here's what I did to quiet down my Motocompacto and make it whisper-silent:
Taming the Loose Screw Monster:
Finding the culprit: Sometimes, a tiny troublemaker can cause a big racket. In my case, it turned out a sneaky screw had come loose inside the Motocompacto. It was like a runaway marble, bouncing around and making all sorts of noise!
I had to open up the Motocompacto by removing the four screws at the bottom, then prying the case apart. I Found the loose screw and used thread lock to put it back in its place nice and tightened it. Thread lock is like super glue for screws, it makes sure they don't wiggle free and cause trouble again.
Super-Secret Sound Dampening Mission:
Shh! It's a secret weapon: Did you know there's a special kind of rubber that can muffle sounds? It's like a superhero cape for noisy things!
Sticking to the plan: I found these awesome rubber strips that stick on easily. I put them between important (noisy) parts of the Motocompacto: the frame where the seat post goes in and between the track where the back wheel slides. These areas seemed to be where some of the extra noise was coming from.
The Big Result:
After catching the loose screw and adding the sound-dampening rubber, my Motocompacto was like a whole new machine! Most of the rattling sounds were gone, making it super quiet. Now, when I ride it, it rolls smoothly and silently - just like a real ninja scooter!
Bonus Tip: If you're not sure where the rattle is coming from in your Motocompacto, ask someone to help you listen closely. You can also try shaking the scooter gently to see if you can hear where the sound is loudest.

I wish the rattles were my biggest problem, but it's the absolutely jarring ride on anything but perfectly smooth surfaces without any expansion joints. It's absolutely insane how there is no give in the tires (might as well be metal tires), the chassis, and the seat. Nothing gives even a little bit to absorb the bumps. It's all transmitted to your body and your brain. I literally have a headache driving it for more than a mile. And going slower just prolongs the pain without giving any relief. Honda made this as a joke and they can't believe people are buying them.

I do see your point, but it's hard to make something so portable have everything. If it weighed 50+lbs you wouldn't take it anywhere by hand. Going faster helps, going slow is where I feel everything. A few pointers is don't death grip the handlebars and stay loose. Let the thing shake under you and not transfer to you. I feel it shakes as much as my road bike does with 120psi tires you felt everything as well. Less only because the wheelbase is further apart so you have a slight break between bumps. Also Honda didn't make this as a joke, they let one of their engineers take off with an idea for a new product. I think it's pretty cool for a company to listen to an engineer and let them do something outside the box. I feel more companies need to do that instead of listening to only their lawyers and accountants. Maybe it's not perfect but it gets the ball rolling for a v2.

I took mine apart to clean the front fender and found the exact same thing with the wiring harness screw

Yeah it happened again on mine even with thread lock. In the end I just used two zip ties in place of the screw. Keeps the little cable protector in place and shouldn't fall out. Hope this helps.
