Would the candle wax method be ok to use on a port that has a glass front element? I know those Aqua Tech front elements are acrylic, any reason why it may damage a glass port?

Hi Dylan! Thanks for the video, great! How do you do when you are filming with a dome? My experience is that photo works well with your technique but after a few seconds the water surface breaks and you suddenly have a dome with small water droplets. Any ideas for filming?
@DylanBrayshaw4 жыл бұрын
Filip Larsson yeah I only shoot photos, not sure how to do it for filming, maybe you would have to try a dry port. Could try candle wax and see if that repels all the water away. Ok know what you mean though.

Hi Dylan Have you tried using the candle wax on the dome port? If so, does it work or are there issues with doing this?
@MichelFakhoury4 жыл бұрын
Have you got an answer to that? would be interested to know if that's recommended or if it works
@rtncs4 жыл бұрын
@@MichelFakhoury Candle wax works and it's unlikely to scratch your lens if you use a clean/non abrasive cloth to wipe the excess wax off.

Hi Dylan, just coming across these tips the candle wax seems great! Was wondering on the back of your housing, do you have an issue with glare from the sun? I have a different housing for a mirrorless camera, and am having issues with glare since there’s no optical viewfinder on my camera Its easiest to shoot with the LCD screen to compose shots. Been thinking about putting some anti-glare film on the screen portion of the housing
@DylanBrayshaw4 жыл бұрын
David Vaughn hey David no I haven’t had issues with glare because of the optical vein finder. Ca you see through the view finder? And not the lcd screen?
@davidvaughn96964 жыл бұрын
Dylan Brayshaw I will have to try the viewfinder next time, it’s a Sony a6000 so the viewfinder is only a tiny screen and not optical like a DSLR. Thanks for the tip!

hey!! I just got an aquatech waterhousing with a P 65 lense port. Do you think it could work well my 70D with a 50mm canon f1.4 as a start kit and then develop from there. Or would you maybe choose a 35mm instead to start off?
@fotosurfsomo78727 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the advice!! Ill let you know what I think of it once I receive it and get in the water with it!! Let me know how the 24mm - 105 works it also interests me for future lenses for surf photography!!

Nice Work Dylan; I would like to know something, if possible. I started using a Gopro 9 to shoot in the waves (amateur, I know lol). Can you help me with the settings ... Is Photo Burst Mode a good option? and what timming should i use? Even if you can't help me, congratulations on the job. I get lots of ideas and tips. Thank you very much.

30 photos in 3 seconds burst mode for sure so you can get as many frames as possible.
